MIL gave me bath soap and one of those long brushes that you use in the shower to wash your back. They are nice but I wonder if she was trying to tell me something.

Strangest xmas gift ever from a relative: Box of Club Crackers
(sort of relative) Jim’s grandmother gave me the box saying that she knew I like them. It was an odd gift and I thought I had offended her in some way. The year before and after I got ok gifts. I was just strange.
Strangest gift from co-worker/secret santa: Pair of Pears
Harry & David Pears. Two of them in a small box. Even though I know the guy who gave it to me, he couldn’t really explain it to me.

Although I love this gift on its own... my mom got me a pink fleece and matching pink down vest.. Which she also got for my sister and made my sister by one for her. You know so we can all walk around dressed alike. Also I recently bought jeans and my mom went back later that night and got the exact same ones.. So can really match. Gotta love her. Although like I said I love the fleece and the vest. I just won't wear them together or on the same day as my mom.

Let me preface this by saying I work in a civil rights office so we are all keenly aware, and sensitive to differences in people with regard to race, color, religion, etc., and at this point, everyone knows I am the only jew in our office of 40 employees.
We exchanged our gifts last week for one another - we all had to pick a name out of a hat, and give the person something they asked for on a card. I asked for a gift card for coffee.
The other attorney on my team bought me starbucks christmas ornaments. Not a gift card, but christmas ornaments of coffee cups
I didn't say anything - I didn't want to be rude, but one of the investigators laughed out loud and screamed "too bad you don't have a christmas tree to put those on"!

As you well know I'm a vegetarian and so is my mom. My aunt used to always get small individual gifts for me and my sister, like she was sending me a snowbaby every year..now every year, she sends us a gift basket full of meat. it's one of those baskets with meat and cheee and crackers, this year it's like a HUge Beef stick, a turket stick a jerky stick and one little cheese and soem crackers...oh and a huge smoked salmon 
I mean i know my sis and the guys are there to eat it, but it come on.
My MIL who is famous for weird/inappropriate gifts just got me a scarf, some candleholders and $50. HUGE improvement.
My FH got me an LCD monitor. At first I was  but it was thoughtful because I did need one

My brother (this was last year but bizarre enough that it should be posted anyway) rec'd a SQUIRREL feeder and a box of oreos from his GF's family (they did a secret santa)... he was seeing and living with her so they were "serious" - they dated for three years and lived together for one and that is what the secret santa who turned out to be her brother got him. It was the weirdest thing I have ever seen and to put the feeder and OREOS together was even weirder!

I was in the Harry and David store at Tangers - some lady was buying 8 pears, and I think it was 100 bucks. My mouth dropped, they must be some good pears to pay that price for them.
I stuck to the martini mix. (Which is superb btw, nice and sweet!)

My DH's family does a $50 secret santa. As his gift he ended up getting a giant framed map of the world with those little red push pins to mark where you've been. A $50 map?We dont even travel.
Its so annoying because we thought so hard about the gifts we bought our secret santa
