General Hospital Fans
Does anyone know how/why there is this bad blood between Sonny and Ric? I just started watching it agian recently.
I guess it's just one of those things that I have to know.

Sonny and Ric are half bros from the same mom. Ric kidnapped carly when she was pregnant andtortured her and was going to steal her baby. that started it all....then ric is jealous of sonny b/c he claims their mom loved him more and she stayed with sonny growing up and abandoned ric
now ric wants to put sonny away
ric is alos extremely jealous of jason b/c he is sonnys number one guy and deep down he wanted to be sonny number 1 guy and brother

Good question! I don't think they ever pressed charges. AND, I think he conned his way into the DA office. Alexis was DA and when she got cancer, he was named the acting DA for her. So, technically, Alexis never got fired or anything, so she can still come back.

another character they introduced....when lorenzo was trying to get sonny he hired this kid who is an amazing computer hacker. Jason took him from lorenzo and they became close in a way. he helped saved lulu in a hotel hostage situation that was nducted by Jerry Jax

OK I just started watching after not watching for a year or two and the General Hospital Wikipedia page is AWESOME! I caught up on all the characters and storylines and I always go to it when I see a new character!! It is a great resource ( yes it is sad i do research on a soap opera LOL )

ha ha me too - i used to come home from elementary school and watch it with my sister! i only stopped watching for a few years because of work - thank goodness for DVR! I am pretty caught up on everything . . . although I am not so happy with some of the new actors

Yep, this was something that they explained years ago. She died when Sonny accidentally pushed her down the stairs. Then, Sonny was sent with his dad, who abused him. I don't remember them saying anything about the mom being abused.

I know! I remember about 20 years of this show. and I'm only 26
Ric brought Sonny to the house in Martha's Vineyard, where Sonny grew up with his mom. That's when Ric threw in Sonny's face about the mom falling down the stairs. Ric's dad abused Sonny's mom, I remember that coming out, and that's why his mom left the dad and Ric. That's another reason why Ric resents Sonny. It wasn't until the mom died that Sonny lived with his abusive father.
that's about all I remember about that

Sonny didn't kill her by pushing her down the stairs. It was at that point that Ric's dad had her make a choice between sonny or the rest of the family and she chose sonny; which is wh ric hates him. She then married the jerk who beat her and locked sonny in closets. (Mike his real dad was always away gambling and drinking at that time).

Sonny Corinthos grew up in in New York with his mother and stepfather. Sonny's stepfather was a cop who beat Sonny's mother and locked Sonny in the closet. When Sonny was a teenager, he became friends with a powerful man in the neighborhood who had Sonny's stepfather killed.
