GD towards the end
so today im 37weeks but since last week my numbers have been out of wack. for breakfast lunch and dinner i can have 30g of carbs but for some strange reason if i have a meal that has less than that some of my numbers are over 120.
im also eating less im so nauseas i cant stomach meats and veggies like before. the only thing that makes me feel better is carbs. its like ms all over again. all i want is crackers and gingerale
im see my doc on wednesday and will be bringing this up to him but i thought i would get some feedback here first.
also what are the chances of him letting me have what i can stomach and not the gd diet? im not talking about about junk food. im just worried that the amount im eating now can't be good for the both of us.

hate to say it but they may give you medication to control your numbers. i honestly doubt you'd be able to eat whatever you can stomach. if your numbers are out of whack, THAT is what's not good for the baby. the only thing that may be able to fix it at this point is medicine. i hope that's not the case though

Re: GD towards the end
are you eating balanced?
Ive done well in the morning with quakers hazelnut latte instant - I believe its 27g for the package, then I eat a spoon of peanut butter
also at lunch time pathmark carries this low carb wheat wrap that I've been getting good numbers with. Also maybe try a portion sized amount of calzone since thats more cheese.

UNfortunately this can be a sign of a healthy placenta. I was on meds but the last few weeks, no matter what i did, my numbers were all over the place. My doc kept telling me it is because of the increasedwork of the placenta. Try as best as you can to get your protein in somehow. Also keep in mindyou can try sugar free ginger ale. In moderation shouldnt be terrible for you. Maybe try a ginger tea instead. Good luck andhopefully teh rest of the pregnancy will be better.. Your'e almost there..

Re: GD towards the end
Now is the time that ethe baby is growing so if you go off the diet your baby may get too much glucose and put more weight on which isn't good for either of you. What if you stick to the same foods that consistently work to keep your numbers in check. It may be a boring meal plan but you only have a few weeks left and then you don't have to worry about it. And I was told that if your numbers go above here and there it's ok it's the constant high that's the problem. Also activity plays a role too. I know I didn't feel much like moving too much but it did work when I knew I may have gone overboard a bit. Good luck and hang in there.
