Re: Game of thrones
I thought that for a second too- still kinda think it might be cersi
She did Not like being called The Former Queen.
Or maybe it was that guy- the one who called her former queen/we repay our debts but how did he have access to orchestrate that?

Game of thrones
I just watched it and as usual I sat there with my mouth wide open. I loved it!!! It was definitely the pie. I don't remember names but the wife kept feeding it to him and no one else had any. I don't think that the Cersi would kill her own son and I don't think the Grandma did it either. If it was her or her family they would have waited until the wedding was consummated so the girl would be queen. I'm placing my best on the bisexual visiting prince.

Re: Game of thrones
Although we all hated the Joffrey character, I have a lot of respect for him as an actor. It's not easy to garner such a response from people. He was hated as strongly as Tyrion is loved, for the same reasons - they really play their roles well.
They zoomed in on the pie after he hit it with the sword too, all I saw was white feathers and blood, it went by too quickly. But I noticed that they did that.
I love all your hypotheses. This is why I enjoy shows that unfold week by week, it gives everyone time to think and question and come up with their own theories!

Re: Game of thrones
I feel like it was too soon for him to be killed off! DH (who read the books) thought it would be next episode.
I'm thinking Tywin had something to do with it. I'm pretty sure Cersei didn't do it, I think she was happy to be mother of the King and she wouldn't be queen after they marry off next in line (Tommin?) anyway.
Joffrey foreshadowed his own fate when he said weddings have to make history!

Re: Game of thrones
In the preview for next week, Margeary makes a comment about almost becoming queen... Because she never slept with Joffrey, does that mean she isn't queen? DH thought it was her grandma poisoning Joffrey, but it wouldn't make sense if Margeary isn't queen now...

Re: Game of thrones
I am on board with it being Cersei. She did NOT want the Tyrell to be the new queen. Plus, Jamie said that bit to her gay fiancee that if he put a baby in her belly she wouldn't have a problem slaughtering it.
Now that I am thinking about it- maybe the cake was meant for Tyrell one to eat first? Like Cersei's plan backfired?
I love this show!!
ETA: I was unsure about The house Tyrell's intentions but you could tell she really was not happy with him abusing Tyrion like that, she was definitely uncomfortable.
Also- I wish it was more a more torturous death LOL

Re: Game of thrones
If Margary can become queen even without the bedding ceremony then I think it was the grandmother. The Tyrells had the most to gain. The grandmother saw Joffrey for the incredibly cruel person that he was, yet never seemed nervous or afraid that her granddaughter was marrying him. I will in a way miss Joffrey. He truly was the character that you loved to hate. Jack Gleeson has proved himself to be am amazing and talented actor.

Re: Game of thrones
Yeah but remember grandma tyrell said to Sansa "to kill a man at a wedding? What kind of monster would do that?" So maybe she was in on it. Or maybe it was just irony.

Re: Game of thrones
Because Margery never consummated the marriage she is not queen. Tommen will be next in line and she will once again be queen regent. I have read the books and am loving all the responses.

Just had to add because I watched the episode again last night- you can see Joffrey's wife's mother taking a jewel off the necklace that Sansa was wearing at the wedding that he got from that guy in the woods - it's the poison.

So confused... so the old lady Tyrell has a necklace at the dinner. She received this necklace from Sansa, which Sansa received from a man in the woods? I dont remember any of this, so would love more details!! Thanks!!!

Ser Dontos (the knight Sansa saved on Joffrey's name day) gave Sansa the necklace. Sansa agrees to wear the necklace because Ser Dontos told her it belonged to his mother and it's the only thing he has and would love for her to have it. Sansa wears the necklace at the wedding and the Queen of Thornes does take one of the jewels off of the necklace.

I just watched the scene. I didn't see her take a jewel off of the necklace. I just saw her playing with Sansa's braids.

Uhhh how about Jamie & His twin sister doing the nasty pretty much on top of their dead son F;in Lannisters! ::Shakes fist:: I really hope Jamie helps out Tyrion, this whole trial with now Oberyn on the panel is no bueno!
I liked it, a lot of information which I had to go to HBO's GOT guide to read a recap since this show is Game of Mumbles! HAHA.
I want to punch Sam in the d**k for leaving Gilly in that brothel. I know his intentions are good, but still!
