 | Is anybody doing a layette?? Some friends told us that we should go to Dennys and put together a layette for the first three months. We went and got an idea of what goes into it but my question is...is it worth it to do this or just buy all that stuff from other stores like Buy Buy Baby where the prices are a little bit more reasonable? At Dennys they said that a layette can range from $300 to $3,000...I guess depending on brand and what you are putting into it. They say the good thing about it is that it is ready for pickup when the baby is born and they keep everything in the store until then. TIA for any suggestions!! |

 | Re: Is anybody doing a layette?? Okay, maybe this is a stupid question, but what exactly is a layette?
We just bought things here and there, plus got some stuff at our baby shower and lots of people came up with clothes when the baby was born -- and that was more then enough.

 | Re: Is anybody doing a layette?? My sister did her son's layette at Denny's. It was helpful for her since we dont bring anything home until after the baby is born. As soon as she delivered, someone went there to get it, washed it and it was clean before she got home. |

 | Re: Is anybody doing a layette?? IMO Denny's is a little pricey on their items. I found a lot of what they sell in other stores for less $.
If you are not looking to spend a lot of $ just pick up a few basics in stores like Kohl's, Carters, Century 21, Marshalls, TJ Maxx-maybe one or two irresistible items from Denny's and then see what you get from gifts.

You can always buy what you don't have after baby is born.

I totally agree!! Burlington Coat Factory is great for name brands as well. You have no idea how fast they grow out of these things. It's such a sin to spend so much money.....

This is what we are doing! I went with my mom and MIL to pick it all out siince they are paying for it
Is it everything, no certainly not. It is a VERY good start though! My bedding is also included in with my layette though. |
