I knew it was too good to be true!
Hey ladies. Last week I posted about my husband and I getting legal guardianship of my niece. Well, it turns out we aren't now. My niece's mother has been ignoring our calls. Come to find out, it was only a joke. She wasn't serious about signing over my niece to us. I gues she thought it would be funny. She kind of knows what my husband and I are going through. I can't believe it. And I'm the dumb A$$ that actually fell for this. I'm devastated! How can someone be so cold hearted like that? I would never even think about doing that to someone! To add to this, my niece's father is with a different girl now and has admitted to not having protected sex. Watch, this new girl will end up pregnant too! I'm so sick of this! Well, I just wanted to fill you ladies in and vent too.

well...you could be the bigger person and move past it or you could call child services to let them know about your concerns about the baby's care. Seems like an equally funny joke, no?

I think it's awful.
My niece's mother is 18. Her mother lives in another town, a few hours away. My niece doesn't have a permanent place to live. My niece and her mother sleep wherever someone will let them sleep. It's horrible and it makes me sick! Don't even get me started on my brother in law! such a loser!

I'm trying to move past it. Just can't believe someone could be so cruel. Honestly, my husband and I thought about calling Child services (this was way before all this). The baby doesn't have a stable home, mother doesn't work, they sleep wherever someone will take them in. The mother is on probation. It's a whole mess.

Thank you! We would definitely consider adoption. We have been talking about it more lately and I've been reading up on it.

thank you all! I really appreciate it! I feel bad for my husband, he was so excited! when my niece's mother said she would sign guardianship over to us, my husband said "this is finally it". Now look! So aggravating!

You should call CPS and hire an lawyer. there is no reason a child should live like this. But be warned it is very hard to take away a child. CPS may help find her a stable home, get her welfare etc..But still it is better for the child and you should do it anyway.
