Re: fun topic
I am with Jess, if DH is home then I will be running out of the bathroom and telling him ASAP. If he isn't home, I think I will tell him the minute he gets home. After 6 months of trying, I won't be able to wait to tell him.
As for parents I am not sure. It all depends on when it happens.

Re: fun topic
I'm not sure.
I'm not ready to TTC yet, for a variety of reasons, but DH has been ready for awhile. I'm thinking I won't even tell him when I stop the BC (although- he may be able to tell b/c I use NuvaRing). This way it will be double the surprise.
I've already found some cute t-shirts to wear to my mom's house when it happens and I'm ready to tell.
I don't know what I'll do for DH- I'll think of something though. It will probably be all in vain- sentiment goes right over his head.

Re: fun topic
hmmmmmmmmmm what a great idea - tshirts and all -
as for DH - ill probably scream my head off orrrr maybe ill try to buy some cute card - dad to be - or something ! as for my parents! i think my parents would just be thrilled if i wore a tshirt - i never even thought of this! also ladies ---- will you tell your parents/friends/family once you get a + test or after you see a doctor. In my family (my second cousins) had a lot of miscarriages so after awhile they didnt announce it until they were pregnant for like 3 months - i cant imagine keeping it inside for 3 months (from certain family members) anyone know what i mean?

Cute idea...I never thought of this....well my mom loves to knit/crochet for all of the children in the family so I think I would buy her a basket of baby blanket yarn.

Re: fun topic
DH will probably be home when I test, so, I'll probably ask him again (like I did with DS) "Am I seeing things"?
For family, I think I will go the tee shirt route and maybe the same for friends..This won't happen till after the 1st sono (again, like I did with DS)

Re: fun topic
There is a Yankees t-shirt with an arrow on the belly that says "Future Fan" I wanted to get that and surprise DH when he got home from work, but I am sure he'll hear me screaming and jumping before I even have the chance to put it on.
For our parents, I was thinking of inviting them over, if and when, and getting a cake that says, "We're pregnant!"
Of course these things are what I hope to do, but I know running through the streets and screaming the news will probably give it away before I can get to my little plans!

Re: fun topic
So... when we got our BFP, we got the WHOLE family (both sides) together and told them. We thought this was a great idea. Not so much. It was an emotional dam breaking and I think if we had told each family separately, we would have been able to deal with it much easier. We were just totally overwhelmed with everyone's congratulations AND opinions and "helpful" comments.
So, this time around, I think we will just take each set of parents out to dinner and tell them then. Then we will let them spread the word because, let me tell you, new grandparents love nothing more than telling THE WORLD that you are pregnant.

Re: fun topic
With #1, I had wanted to do something special to tell DH, but I was so excited to test that I did it before he left for work and then just blurted it out. We found out of Valentines Day and went and got our parents V-Day gifts that were all baby themed. This time around, I plan on getting DS the "I'm going to be a big brother" tee-shirt to tell both DH and our families. however, I probably won't tell my in-laws as quickly as I did last time, because my MIl told the whole world within 2 days, even though I begged her to wait until atleast my first sono. So I probably won't tell then until I see the bean for myself.

Re: fun topic
Well if it happens this month DH wants a dog for his birthday, and I want to surprise him with a dog and a BFP.. I will try and do something cute. .....I had a m/c before so I am almost scared to do anything until we are in the clear..... but I know I will be too happy not to do something. Everyone else I will tell around 12 weeks.

I feel like DH will be there when I take test....so is i bad I haven't really thought of telling him lol
Parents- Probably a frame of sorts that says "I'm worth the wait"
My sister- a shirt for my nephew that will say...."Expecting a cousin....MONTH 09'" <------ that's my nephew
DHs sister- probably a t-shirt that says "Aunt 09"

Re: fun topic
I'm just gonna make sure DH is there when I test so he can be there the minute it happens.
As far as family, I think I want to bring a onesie or some kind of baby clothing that has a Yankee emblem or saying on it.
Originally I thought of wearing this maternity shirt that has "future Yanks fan" written right there on the pregnant belly. I dunno....
But what I really want to do is find a shirt I saw months go that says "50% Mommy, 50% Daddy, 100% Yankee fan." Can't seem to find it though!!!

Re: fun topic
When we get the BFP - I'm investing in the "does this baby make me look fat?" shirt (from Femail Creations) We're going to have a party with all of our closest family and friend and when everyone's there, I'm going to change into that shirt... and see how many people catch on.

Nothing special to tell DH because he'll be right beside me while I look at the stick.
Family...haven't decided...that'll be something we'll think about when the time comes.

Re: fun topic
With my son I wanted to tell him in a creative way - but I tested at 11 at night and just had to show him the test bc I thought I was seeing things.
This time around I am going to do my best to not tell him before he leaves for work (assuming it's Mon-Fri) I will fill up the entire house with pink and blue balloons (although - now thinking about this - how would I actually get the balloons to the house?) -- Ok - so I will revise my plan - I won't fill the entire house with balloons but I will get as many as I can fit into my SUV. I will also get an "I'm the Big Brother" T-shirt for my DS.
For my sons godparents we gave them both "#1 godparent t-shirts" when we told them. It took them awhile to realize
My parents last time - we got a shirt for the dog that says "I'm the Big Sister"
My inlaws - we just came from the doctor and gave them a Grandparents magazine!
Friends/Family - I want to think of creative ways to tell them this time around.

I just read the cutest thing!
It said to (at a holiday I guess) bring the whole family together for a picture and ask everyone to say cheese. Then go to take another picture and say, "Everyone say (NAME) is pregnant!" Then you can capture all of the reactions!

Re: fun topic
We are going to get a puppy but do not want to do so until I get pregnant. We want the dog to not be too old when I have a baby but, we also do not want a brand new puppy at the same time. So, I plan to get my husband a card with puppies on it and leave it out for him so he sees it before he leaves for work. In it I will write something simple like ..." looks like it is time to go and get our puppy ."
