Frustrated With Feedings - Opinions Please!
DS is a year old and has recently decided it's fun to drop food on the floor. Constantly. At first we tried smiling and saying, "Silly...don't drop your food on the floor!" Didn't work. He'd giggle and continue. Then we tried looking stern and saying, "No. Don't drop it. You eat." Didn't work. He'd giggle and continue. Then we tried using the same words and stern face and held his hand to keep from dropping it. Didn't work. Crying then did it again. I know this isn't the worst behavior to have but we want to try to stop it. It makes a mess and becomes a problem if we want to take him out or are over a friend's house. He just seems to think this is fun and I'm sure it's a normal phase but...ugh! Any suggestions??

when my dd did this, I took it as a sign that she was not hungry
remove him from the food and try again at a later time
if he was hungry, he would not be throwing the food

I would try ignoring it. He gets attention from you when he does it. As difficult as it is, try not to react.
