Friends' Anniversaries
Do you acknowledge your friends' wedding anniversary? Do you call, email, send a card or just assume it's a private thing between the couple? I'm asking b/c I have a sensitive situation and don't know exactly how to handle it. TIA

Re: Friends' Anniversaries
Honestly, the only ones I remember are my families---parents and in-laws and brothers/sisters

When I had only a few married friends to remember, I did. Now I really don't. I know I could keep a calendar and still send cards, but I have so little time and my friends don't seem to expect me to remember.

Re: Friends' Anniversaries
My friend just sent me a card re: my first anniversary.. I felt bad b/c i had not done the same for her in the past. but i dont think its necessary to unless its a major anniversary, not just a yearly one. but its totally up to you.. A card is fine if you just wanted to say "hey happy anniversary, just thinking of you both."

Re: Friends' Anniversaries
We only have one married couple who are very close friends (Katie - Babycote2006 and her DH) I usually send her an email, FM, Myspace comment on their Anniversary.
I may have even sent a card once or twice.

Just one because we got married the same year a month apart and planned lots of our wedding stuff together.
We always get each other a gift.

Re: Friends' Anniversaries
I have a hard enough time keeping track of my families anniversaries, birthdays, etc. As much as I love and care for my friends, dates are not my forte and therefore (unless I get a birthday notifier on Myspace) I usually don't acknowledge the date. I hope they do know that I care about them though.

I usually just send an email. And if we talk to them that day then we wish them a Happy Anniversary.
I HATE cards.

Re: Friends' Anniversaries
I think it's a private thing with the couple - except for my parent's who get a card.
I did get a few anniversary cards from friends though.

Same with me.
If I do remember (usually because the person mentions something that they are doing for their anniversary), I will send an email but, otherwise, I can't keep up with it!

Re: Friends' Anniversaries
No, I have a hard enough time remembering my own!
We do remember and celebrate MIL and FIL, since it's July 4th....
ETA: Speaking of forgetting my own.... I remember my brother's since it's the same as mine, just 12 years later. (Of course, that's still assuming that I remember my own.... )

Yes, I try to remember my friends anniversaries. As for my brothers - not really and my parents are usually in town for theirs, so we celebrate with them or I call.

Re: Friends' Anniversaries
Most of our friends are newly married.
So to answer your question, yes I do send a card. To our close friends we give a small gift that coincides with the meaning of their year ie: 1 year- paper.
however, I have learned not to do for some next year as they didnt remember mine and dh's anniversary.
