Friday QOTD

Happy Friday

I am off to Spain tonight for a vacation with DH. I'm almost positive I will have Blackberry access to the site so I will still post the QOTD for Saturday and Sunday. I'm apologizing in advance if I am delayed with getting it up (time difference). Also, please let me know if you have not and would like to be FMOTW. We have a lot of newbies here so don't be afraid to step up .

Ok, and now for the question:

Do you want your baby shower to be a surprise or do you want to know about it and be part of the planning and why?

I've been thinking that as much as I like surprises, I may want to know about my baby shower in advance. This way I can be prepared and look as best as possible. Also, I've seen so many cute ideas for baby showers that I would love, and I figure if I know about it then there is not harm in throwing out some suggestions and ideas for whoever is throwing it.

First: Spain! Wow, have a great time. I studied there for a summer and have been back twice since then. I LOVE the lifestyle there, and it's just beautiful. What part are you visiting?

As for the question: I hate surprises! I think I'd like to know when my shower is but knowing my friends/co-workers they won't be having any of that.

I want to know when my shower is because I really do not like surprise events. I like to enjoy the process of planning events. I also want to look my best and have people openly discuss how they can't wait for my shower. All I want to know is where, when and the theme. That's it.

Enjoy your trip have a nice relaxing time!

I knew and kind of helped plan my first shower (kind of a control freak) it turned out great but I feel like I missed the surprise aspect. I dont know if I would get a second shower but if I did I would love a surprise.

I really want to help but I also want to be surprised. If that is possible..lol. I would love to be involved in some of the planning, like choosing a place and favors...but I don't want to know what day it is and they can be in charge of everything else. ( I will of course give them some of my ideas )

My bridal shower was a total surprise. For my baby shower, I think that I would like for it to be planned without any input from me but I don't want it to be a surprise. I would want to know the day because I don't think I would enjoy the surprise at 7 or 8 months pregnant.

I do not want my baby shower to be a surprise. Like my bridal shower, I want to know the date and place and will absolutely want to help if my sister allows it (which she didn't when planning my bridal...the only thing I helped her with was picking the place). My sister, with help from various family members, planned my bridal shower and she did a fabulous job so I know that she will do an amazing job with my baby shower.

I was not surprised by my shower. My poor family can never surprise me, I always manage to find out.

I'm not usually into surprises, but I think I'd like it to be a surprise. My bridal shower was not a surprise due to me living so far away (I had to fly home for the weekend of the shower), and my mom was really bummed she couldn't surprise me. If anything I'd just ask my mom to set up a couple of ground rules: 1. go easy on the games, and 2. make sure to tell my FIL when it is because I'd announce at the shower what we're having (so we don't wind up with too many pink or blue clothes!).

I do not want it to be a surprise at all. I hate surprise parties. I found out about my bridal shower but still had to do the whole walk in in front of everyone and act surprised thinbg and I nearly had a panic attack on the drive over.

Also, I really want to help plan it!

Normally I hate surprises, but my bridal shower was a complete surprise and I loved it!

So now I'm addicted to surprise parties

I hate surpises and I know it won't be a surprise as I have anxiety really bad and my family will not put the stress on me. I need to be completely in the know.

I would love plan it but I don't think my family would let me.

I don't really care if I am surprised or know about it...the only reason I would say that I might want to know about it is because I think making it a surprise is so stressful for the people planning it.

I was SHOCKED at my bridal shower. I showed up on a friggen boat!!! I thought my dad and I were going out sailing but instead he brought me to a nearby marina (telling me my brother and SIL were meeting us there and going to come with us). As we motored in, everyone was waiting on the dock, still having no idea, I thought they were a group of tourists. until they yelled "SUPRISE!" It was great!
