Freaky......would you buy this?

https://www.myspybirdhouse.com/

I have to say that I pretty much hate most birds. They kind of freak me out.

DS of course has seen the commercial and has asked for this.

I don't really want this on any of my windows though and I sorta wonder too if it is somehow animal cruelty?

I also have a couple of cats btw so I am sure seeing this would drive them nuts.

What say you?

My DD wants this too! I was going to get it for her for Christmas, but I didn't see it in the As Seen on TV store and it was too late to order online.

She told me I just need to go to "www" to order it. LOL

It's not for me but I may show my mom for her cats, they love watching birds.

I saw this on TV and thought it was weird. What happens if those suction cups lose grip and the birds-or baby birds-go tumbling to the ground?

When I saw the commercial I figured the birds would see humans on the other side, feel threatened, and set up a nest somewhere else.

One of the teachers in my building put a see through bird feeder on her window. The birds (and squirrels) visit pretty often.

I vaguely remember the commercial saying the birds can't see you, but you can see them?
Like one way glass or something?
But I was half listening....

I was actually half-listening too and thought that was why they included the do not disturb cover. That would make more sense though if it's like one way glass!

Yeah, it's the mirror where they supposedly can't see in.

But I thought the same about the suction cups as well.

My biggest fear is birds! I can't even watch the commercial! No way would I ever buy it. I'd end up in a psych ward if I had to see that!

I thought it was a great idea, but I also thought the same thing about the suction cups.

Birds creep me out so I wouldn't want one but of course, my DD saw the commercial and flipped out. She keeps asking for it, I keep saying no. Chat Icon

Freaky......would you buy this?

I would not want to hear them at my window.
Besides, my cat would go BONKERS.
She launched herself at the windoe to get to a bird that was on the sill.
Thank G-d the window was closed, otherwise she would have gone thru the screen.

I thought this was cool, a great way for kids to learn about nature... but I did a search of reviews, and this issue came up a lot so I won't be purchasing it.

Re: Freaky......would you buy this?

Never. I don't think it's safe enough for the birds. Suction cups rarely hold tight enough during the freezing weather especially. I would be too worried that it would fall and the birds would die.

I don't think it's right for some reason as well. Just irks me that they are selling something to make money, that could harm the birds (it falling, which it WILL fall eventually), to make a spectacle out of something in nature that deserves privacy and natural habitat (not being on a WINDOW). Gets me sick actually.Chat Icon

This was my concern, i just posted below. Suction cups RARELY hold so tight, for so long, that the birds can be guaranteed to be safe.
