Freaking out...
OK - I have been freaking out ever since today's dr. appt.... This pregnancy has gone by so fast...
I'm not sure I'm ready. I want to cry.
Besides the fact that I am jam packing everything I can possibly do this last month work wise (which I know will be more and more difficult as I get closer to birth) our cars are still filthy and full of all the crap that we havent brought in yet from moving... I refuse to put our baby in there....
And the whole house still feels undone...
But - I'm just not ready for labor, for bringing home a baby, for all of that... I mean, a part of me is totally ready, but a huge part of me is thinking "what the hell are you doing???"
I'm just going thru that nervous new mother stuff...
I'm also so scared I'll have post partum depression....
I'm just scared about everything at this point

Re: Freaking out...
I saw your other post about going to the Dr weekly now. When I got changed to going every 2 weeks I freaked too. You will be so good whent he baby comes. As far as the "What the hell are you doing" stuff - you will fall right in, like you have been doing it forever.
My friend told me that the scariest moment she had was leaving the hospital. She got into the car with her hubby and the baby and headed home. Then she realized noone was going to be there to show/tell her what to do!!?!?!!! She said as soon as she got home, she was fine. Instinct takes over and you just KNOW what to do...
People have been doing it forever and will keep doing it. We get thru. Trust your instict and go with the flow...

Re: Freaking out...
It's so hard not to be anxious and worried- I wake up at 3 am worrying about so many things that I have no control over. I wish I had some advice, but you are definitely not alone.
As for PPD, DH and I already talked about it, what we should both look out for and what we'll do if it's really a problem. I don't think there is much else to do beyond that, other than making sure you have a good support network and people to help you.

Re: Freaking out...
Aw, don't freak....the cars will take a day to finish up, tackle each bunch of moving stuff one room at a time. If there is stuff that has no place right now, put it away, you'll deal with it when your hormones aren't crazy! Everything will be fine...

Re: Freaking out...
Hi Liza,
I think being scared is completely natural. I remember driving a friend of mine and his wife and new baby home from the hospital and the wife just broke down in tears when she got into their apartment - she had meant to clean it and get a little more organized and just felt a bit overwhelmed by all the changes.
I spoke with her a few days later and asked if she was doing better and she said that it's amazing how little you care about laundry/chores/etc. once the little one comes home - and everything does fall into place.

Thanks ladies - I am just in shock how quickly 9 months can fly by.... Being pregnant has been somethign I have just been all this time, and the baby part was somewhere in the distance.... And now its the other way around - the pregnancy is almost done, and now is the time to prepare for baby....

I'm sure you'll be a great Mom...it all just seems overwhelming now. Why don't you make a list of things you want to get done in the house before baby comes and divide it with your DH. Take one thing at a time and it will all be done before you know it.

Re: Freaking out...
Liza... take it one day at the time.
1st: study for your exam since this is the 1st thing to come
2nd: Worst come worst, have the car seat and crib ready. That's all you need.
Then you can worry about the birth, etc....

Re: Freaking out...
3 weeks before due date, I had my first ever panic attack on the way to BRU..we had to pull over..I couldn't breathe.
On the way to the hospital, DH HYPERVENTILATED!
I think your feelings are completely normal, and will fade once you meet your little love. You will go through the motions..its such an exciting time. I think its a rollercoaster ride..everytime baby wakes, you get super excited to see them again, but you have no idea what you are in for each feeding
