My children will be 3 years and about 3 weeks apart. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart

I knew fairly early on that I couldn't handle being in the 2 under 2 club, because my daughter is just a lot to handle - collicky from the start, and as a toddler very demanding, stubborn and spirited. I was hoping to get pregnant about 6 months ago, which would have made them about 3 years apart, but my body isn't quite cooperating, so it will be more likely 3.5 to 4 year age difference, which, I think will make it easier for me to manage in the longrun.

Nope, I am waiting too. FInancial issues, AND I want to be done with school, and be in a different career where I can be home more. I have AGe and IF against me also, but we do not plan on trying until Parker is 3-4.

If we decide to have another they will be about 3 years apart..I want to give Gavin all of my attention now and for financial and medical reasons I need them spaced out that much!!

My sister and I are 3.5 years apart and I always thought that was perfect. . . hopefully I'll have that same situation.

Sometimes I feel like that but to each his own. I personally dont want 2 in diapers and me and my sister were 4 years apart and we were and still are very close.

THANK you for posting this! YES! All my friends I was pregnant with already had their seconds. We just aren't ready. So we are waiting. Sometimes I feel bad about it, but then I ask myself, why?? I'm not ready. So now I get to spend more time focusing on my Jordy!

ideally, Steven's future sibling will be 3, maybe even closer to 4 years apart. I do feel like the odd man out, but that's OK. It's still not changing my mind Chat Icon

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart

We will ttc# 2 this summer making DD and baby # 2 3 years apart. I read recently that psycholgists (sp!) say this is the perfect diffrence in sibling ages for various reasons. If we decide to go for #3 then there may not be as big of a gap as I hear the tick tock...but you are right most of my friends and family are having their kids much closer together.

I LOVE the time that we are having with DD before #2 arrives - she will had lots of one on one time by then.

No you are not alone...

Mine would be at least 3.5 yrs apart as of this moment.

There was no way I wanted to have another before 3 yrs apart.

Sometimes I feel the tiniest twinge of regret for waiting this long but not because of what everyone else is doing, only because sometimes I think it would have been kind of nice also if #2 was to arrive a little sooner than 3.5 yrs.

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart

I was upset at first that mine will be a few years apart(I am an Irish twin, so that made sense to me)...but timing is off.

We move around so much and have 2 more moves ahead of us. I don't want to do dr switching again, moving and packing...

so I am trying to look forward to the benefits...

I can nurse Josh for an extended period.

I LOVED my infant time with Josh. I had a super small apt(easy to clean) no family...just me and my baby to hold and love all day long. Maybe at 3, Josh will be more independent, hang with Leo more...so I can have infant time again.
