We work in shifts. I would go to bed ridiculously early, like 8pm or 9pm, and DH would be in charge of all wakings/feedings until 1am, and then I'd take over. Works out for us because he's a night owl, and I'm an early riser Chat Icon

This is how we did it in the beginning too.

Yup. The schedule was I did everything. Chat Icon

Oh wait - you want a schedule where you don't resent him for a year, huh? Chat Icon

We had a system that worked pretty well until DD started STTN.

In the beginning, I put her to bed at 9:00, and then I put myself to bed right after.

I got up for the middle of the night wakings, but it was fine because I usually already had about 5 hours of sleep by then so I didn't feel like a complete zombie.

Eventually, DD started going to bed earlier and earlier so we started a "dream feed" at about 11 or so, which DH would give her right before he went to bed which would keep DD asleep longer - until about 4am or so and again, I was going to bed early enough so that I could handle waking up at 4 without it throwing off my whole day.

We did something similar, but by the time I went back to work she was going to bed between 10-11 and waking up around 5-6. So it definitely got better.

I'm sorry you have to go back to soon!

We took every other feeding each, but I pumped during the day for bottles and eventually formula fed

We did this and it totally worked. Also DH would wash the dishes during the week I'd bathe DD and get her ready foe the sitter the next day

We took turns - every other night oneof us was responsible. But I stopped Breast Feeding when I went back to work at 13 weeks so it was always a bottle. I am of the position if both people are working full time then they both should take care of the baby evenly.

The only schedule was that he'd get up & get the baby on the weekends or get up with the kids so I could sleep in.

DH works on a construction site so having him tired & working with thousands of volts of electricity wasn't an option for me. The most damage that could happen to me being tired was my head would hit a keyboard.
