How do you feel about piercing ears? At what age are you going to or what age did you?

Thanks

Re: for those having or had a :babygirl:

In my family we had to wait until we were 12 to get our ears pierced. It made it something special that we all looked forward to. I want to have my daughter wait, but I haven't decided on an age yet, somewhere in the 8-12 range.

I've never even thought about it!

My mother wouldn't let me get my ears pierced until I was 13. I don't know if I'll make my daughter wait or not. Like I said, I've never even given it a thought.

My Mom had my ears pierced when I was 1 month old. I know it's a bit controversial in some circles but I think it's so cute when a little baby girl has her ears pierced. If I have a girl, I'll probably have them pierced when she's a baby.

My mom took my to get my ears pierced when I was 8 years old. Since I am having a DD this time, she is getting her ears pierced as soon as her ped says that it is ok.

Kristina had her ears pierced @ 2 months old. We (all the girls in my family) had them done at infant stages of life, and it made life sooooooo easy for me.... She had no clue what her ears were at that point, so she never touched them, or bothered with them after the piercing. It was great!

Re: for those having or had a :babygirl:

i waited with DD, she was my first and i wanted it to be her decision to have earings. I believe she was 4 when we got it done- and she said, mom you should have done this when i was a baby so i couldnt feel it.
If this one is a girl, i might take her adivse.
Im also nervous about an earing falling out and choking- so we will see.

I haven't even thought about this. I'd probably wait till she was a little older and asks for it herself.

Re: for those having or had a :babygirl:

I will not be piercing my little girl's ears until she is a little older. I am not a fan of earrings on babies - but that's totally JMO

I did my DD's at 3.5 mos. It's a cultural and religious tradition for some people. In ancient times it meant a baby was blessed. I know alot of people are opposed to it. I think it's adorable Chat Icon

Re: for those having or had a :babygirl:

I pierced my daughter's ears when she was 6 months old. I don't regret my decision at all! She doesn't play with them, and never has!

Getting them done was a piece of cake too. The only thing she didn't like was when the Dr was holding her head still so he could pierce her ears.

We have a baby girl & we decided we won't get them for her until she asks for them; we're thinking maybe for her first communion.

Re: for those having or had a :babygirl:

I personally hate pierced ears on babies. I think its something that should be done later in life, not as a baby.

Re: for those having or had a :babygirl:

I had my DD's ears pierced at 5 months I think. It was so much easier and now at 6 yrs. she loves having pierced ears. If this baby is a girl too, we will do the same thing.

Re: for those having or had a :babygirl:

We did it at 8 months with DD #1. We did it at the Pediatrician. She was fine. I don't really feel any way about it.....all depends on the parent. I understand people wanting to do it as well as people who don't want to do it.

Re: for those having or had a :babygirl:

I'm not a fan of pierced ears on baby's, so I haven't done it yet. DD is 14 months. I will think about it when she is 3 years old and starts nursery school.
