For fun-what have you heard helps?
So I dont know how/when to do any of these things but here are some things I've heard helps during an IVF cycle
eating pineapple core
drinking red wine
funny ehough, also not drinking red wine lol
Anyone care to tell me when those things are important?
What have you heard helps? Or better yet, what have you done to increase your chances?

I ate pineapple.
Pineapple chicken from Chinese food places. Pineapple on my melted ice cream,..because I would not eat anything cold because I heard I should avoid that.
But, I did get pregnant it just was a chemical.

Re: For fun-what have you heard helps?
When I got pregnant with the triplets, I did not eat pineapple (the place I had the transfer done told me to avoid it, actually..). I stayed in bed VERY strictly, I avoided cold foods... I was basically a little nutty. Oh- and I was VERY positive the entire time.
With my latest pregnancy, I ate tons of pineapple, I didn't go on ANY bed rest , and ate whatever I want at whatever temperature I wanted it ... I was negative because I knew I had lining issues and just had a slim chance of it working.... and I got pregnant then too.
Honestly.. my opinion is if it's going to happen, it will happen regardless of what you do or eat afterwards. I know studies show this or that and blah blah blah... but ultimately I think we do these things to make ourselves feel better and to feel like we are helping the process.
I think the best thing you can truly do to help the process is stay focused on relaxing things... do some online shopping ... watch some good movies.. and just keep an overall happy frame of mine.

Re: For fun-what have you heard helps?
the cold thing isnt a blanket statement, its specifically part of traditional chinese medicine/acupuncture. if your body "runs cold" (many PCOSers run cold) then you can avoid cold foods and eat specifically warm foods in order to keep your womb warm. same thing goes in the opposite direction if you "run warm."
during my IVF I avoided cold foods, caffeine, and alcohol. i ate A LOT of red fruits and berries (TCM says it promotes blood flow). do I think i would've gotten a BFP without these things? Probably. But I didn't drive myself crazy either, I just did these things to do them. I think you can do whatever makes you feel better but the minute you start to drive yourself crazy with stuff you are just counteracting any positives that the foods you are avoiding or consuming would have given you. I am in the same boat for pregnancy, I think everything in moderation is fine and it irks me personally when people become neurotic about a bite of deli meat. But then again I delivered an IUGR preemie at 33w so don't listen to me

Re: For fun-what have you heard helps?
i researched the pineapple core thing and checked with my clinic, they okay'ed it. the core containes bromelain. "Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme that breaks up proteins that inhibit embryo implantation"
i got pregnant that cycle, but i dont think it was the pineapple core!

What Flowerwife said.
It's not as simple as "hot" and "cold" but your yin and yang- all about a body, mind and soul balance.
Read the Infertility Cure. It explains EVERYTHING. From your meridians to certain foods to which organs interact with each other. It's a wealth of knowledge. A traditional Chinese Medicine doctor can also explain this.
And I'm not going to throw my 2 cents in to add "what helps!"
I've literally done it all, except for the silky chicken!
All on His time.

Re: For fun-what have you heard helps?
Laughter....before and after the transfer. The RE that did my last transfer said there was a study done that said women who were laughing after transfer had better success with IVF than those that didn't. Makes sense, and here I was yelling at DH because I thought I was going to laugh the embie right out of my uterus

Re: For fun-what have you heard helps?
Eating McDonald's!!!
when I was doing IVF I searched about all these silly things and stumbled about McDonald's helping with implantation (lots of discussion on FF & other sites)....
My only successful cycle we stopped at McDonald's on the way home from transfer...I ate a big angus burger that day (I never eat MCDs)...well I got a DC from that cycle....I have done 5 IVFs and only ate McDonalds that one time....prepapring for a new cycle and I can't wait to eat it again!!!! haha
McDonalds Helps w/ Implantation..

Re: For fun-what have you heard helps?
-Pineapple core -eat McDonalds day of transfer -no cold foods/drinks day of transfer (which is a bit silly since you need to drink water to fill up your bladder) -lay on your side -bed rest for 24-48 hours -sex night before transfer (helps get the uterus ready- but you can only do this with a FET since you can't have sex after ER)
I did a mixture of these things for my FET and 2nd IVF- FET failed and 2nd IVF was successful. I only did the laying on left side for my first IVF and it was succesful.
It really all depends on the embryo quality.

totally agree everyone has to do what is right for themselves, but don't stress about 'oh i didn't/did eat pineapple this cycle, so i won't/will get pregnant' i can pretty much guarantee you that pineapple has nothing do with it! (JMO of course)
