For awareness sake...
Hi everyone...i don't post that often, but thought this was important. It is not my intention to scare anyone, but to raise awareness.
My husband has recently been diagnosed with Stage IIB testicular cancer. It is a very very treatable type of cancer and he is receiving chemotherapy for it.
Please encourage the men in your lives to check themselves regularly for any suspicious lumps, and go to the doctor immediately if you should find one.
Please feel free to FM me with any questions.
All the best!
Kerry
ETA: Thank you all for your prayers, good wishes/vibes and overall support! It means a lot to us!

It's ok. He's getting treatment and we are really looking on the bright side of things.
I just wanted to spread the word...awareness is so important.

Re: For awareness sake...
i admire the strength in your outlook! It's so important to stay positive when life throws these challenges our way, but so many times, its easier to say than to do. Still, it makes such a huge difference to have a strong sense of mental health, when your physical health is being tested.
Best of luck with the Chemo for your DH! the odds really are in his favor, and i'm happy that they were able to detect it early on.

Thanks!
The chemo has caused all these weird cravings and he says he feels as if he's "expecting."

Re: For awareness sake...
K, keeping a positive outlook is one of the healthiest things you can do! Sending you many & Dh was just complaining about pain in his groin area and then it went away. But I will def. make sure he gets it checked out!

Re: For awareness sake...
Wow - good luck...
are there any symptoms to watch out for? Any special tests at the doctors?
How do you discover something like this? If you don't mind me asking...

Thanks! We are weathering this as best we can. Honestly, the positive outlook only arrived about two weeks ago...before that I was a wreck! As we spoke with the specialists, oncologists and other healthcare professionals in charge of my husbands care we began to feel more positive about the whole thing.

Many hugs to you and DH!!
Also, to add ladies your DH, BF should be checking his boys in the shower and just feel them one at a time, kind of like a breast exam, to feel for any lumps or changes.
I am sure DH wouldn't mind if you did it for him I do this once a month for my hubby, it only takes a couple minutes.
