I either kept him in the stroller and put food items underneath (I was fortunate to have a HUGE basket under the uppababy Cruz) or I'd wear him. It mainly depended on if he was sleeping upon arrival. Usually sleeeping baby meant I'd leave him in the car seat.

Those who mentioned peapod (I agree, I love it) but $10 to deliver is quite a lot!
I just finished my 2 month free delivery and I am not sure I can bring myself to pay $9.95 delivery.

A friend of mine had this and it was pure freaking genius. Surprised nobody came up with it sooner. I wish they had that when DD was an infant!

Wore them, or infant seat in the basket. Both of my kids LOVED the grocery store with all of the lights, sounds, colors...

I have a Vista stroller with a gigantic basket. I can do a full food shop and put all the groceries in the basket underneath.
