Infant moms or BTDT moms, let's talk food
1. When did you start cereal?
2. How often did you give it and how much per serving
same question for baby food (veggies and fruit)
right now, KJ is 4 1/2 months old and he gets cereal (1tsp) one time a day
he has had rice and oatmeal and much prefers the rice....I plan to start with some veggies next week but do I give him the ceral in the am and then the veggies at lunch
did you normally give the veggie between meals or right prior to the bottle (If I remember correctly, I gave miki her food in between meals - like 1 1/2 hours after the bottle)

DD actually starting eating cereal at about 4 1/2 months. She got it in the morning and at night on most days. I would just make about 2 tbsp of cereal mixed with just enough formula for the desired consistency.
She just started fruits and veggies a couple of weeks ago. I make it myself and freeze it in the ice cube trays, so I defrost one cube and mix it with about a tbsp of cereal- oatmeal for fruits, rice for veggies. I give her a fruit combo in the morning, veggies at night, both before her bottle. I give her some water along with it and then she gets the bottle once she is done and cleaned up.

Started cereal at 3 months per my ped. Took DS another month to "get it"...
Gave 1 tbsp mixed with formula - he likes it thick.
4.5 months we started veggies.
I started him on rice but he had major diarrhea so we switched to oatmeal and it's all good now.
He is almost 6 months now and this our schedule:
AM:
6 oz bottle
1 tbsp oatmeal mixed w / formula
I mix in a tsp of fruits (peaches, banana etc)
During the day he gets 3 8 oz bottles
PM:
1 - 1.5 jars of veggies depending on how hungry. That is about 1 hr before the bedtime bottle.
Then he usually finishes 4-6 oz of the bedtime bottle an hour later.
I am going to ask at my next ped visit if I should start incorporating solids during the day for "lunch".
