Assuming your separate folic acid supplement was 400 mcg, I think that would give you around 800 mcg, which is recommended.
I was doing this for awhile...and taking a fish oil, too. Then I switched over to the One A Day Prenatals just to simplify things a little.
ETA: Did you mean Folic Acid plus your one a day prenatal, or plus the regular Women's One A Day?

I take Folfgard (RX folic acid) + Target brand prenatals. No way to OD on folic, it comes out in ur urine.

My dr said I should have 1,000 mg of folic acid which is more than double of what's in Womens One A Day. That's actually what I take now, btw.
Switching to prenatals in a month when I go off BCP.

Im so confused with this... my doctor just said to take a Women's One A Day + folic acid ..... Why didnt she just say to take an over the counter prenatal? I dont get it

My DR told me to take Women's One Day Prenatals -- I would stick with prenatals (lots of people like the target brand too)
