Flying to the Bahamas??
I am a little clueless...
There are non-stop flights from JFK to Nassau, Bahamas... but the resort we like is on Great Exuma. That is a little island that is part of the Bahamas but separate from Nassau.
Do we fly to Nassau and take a ferry?? Is it far?
Or do we fly directly to Great Exuma but I cannot seem to find flights there.
Anyone done this?

I have done it and it is worth it to go to Exuma to see the swimming pigs!
I went for work and we flew to Miami and then to Exuma (Georgetown). You can also fly to Nassau and take a quick hopper plane to Exuma, those flights are pretty cheap I think!
The ferry takes a long time I believe.

Oh my God!!!!!!! I have never seen anything like this!!! I just woke my bf up. He called me crazy but I think we are going to go in two weeks. This looks like the most magical place on earth!!!

There is a Groupon right now for Grand Isle Resort and Spa.
It is a fantastic deal.
That is what we bought and that is where we are going to stay.
I can't wait to just lay in the powder white sand next to him the entiiiiiiire time. I'm so flipping excited. Between the two of us we have three boys lol ten years of age, six years of age, and 20 months --- This will be our first real trip alone aside from like an overnight in Boston or a Newport weekend... and our first "beach" trip, no kids, no alarms going off at 6am, no constant work emails to the phone, etc.

Ok figured it out.... It'll be jet blue JFK to Fort Lauderdale and then Fort Lauderdale to Great Exuma on Silver Airlines... Cheaper than Bahamas Air.
New York to Florida is three hours and then Florida to Exuma is 90 minutes. Done!
Cheapest was this way at $1,400 total, round trip, for two people... For both flights. So that's the cost. The ferry is not really doable bc it is an eleven hour ferry. My boyfriend would die lol.

Peter and I talk/joke about the whole ring thing -- I'm not even sure I want to ever marry again but if we live together, I have no problem being eternally engaged - I just want a diamond
And yeah an emerald or a cushion would be nice

When we got engaged dhs stepmom said they could probably see it from space.
Oh and she also asked to try it on and immediately asked for an upgrade of her ring,,,which she got 8 months later for her birthday. And then when she got it she held it up next to mine and whined, but yours still looks bigger
