Fluoride free toothpaste for older kids
I am the only weirdo who uses fluoride free toothpaste with my almost 3 year old? I have been reading all of these bad things about fluoride and I am just wondering if its really necessary to use in toothpaste?

I think most of the new studies coming out about fluoride are in reference to fluoride in tap water, when it's being ingested. I don't think it's a big issue in toothpaste since most of it is spit out.

We don't use flouride either! We have a 3yr old and a 5 yr old. Weuse "spry tooth paste."

We use fluoride toothpaste, because from what I have heard the benefits way outpace any risks from accidental swallowing of a little bit.

i dont think flouride toothpaste is bad unless it is being swallowed. Flouride is not meant to be ingested, like in water or vitamins

Our ped dentist wants us to use reg toothpaste that we usefor our kids (with fluoride ) for our kids

I only started using it about after she turned 3 b/c DD wasn't spitting good. Then we started on fluroide toothpaste and she finally got the concept.
