I got mine a couple weeks ago, and the kids are getting theirs on Tues.. this is the first year we've gotten it.

Nate got the 1st dose at the end of Sept. He was supposed to get the second dose 2 weeks ago, but he had a fever. He didn't have any reaction to the first dose.

Andrew got his last week. The area got red and inflamed a few days later, but otherwise he was fine.
He got it in 1 dose.

Probably not since I can find anyone who has the thimersol free shot. If I can find a place that has the preservative free then yes I will get it for her.

Pardon the ignorance, but what is thimersol??? Is it in the vaccine??? You guys are scaring me. Ava just got hers last week... I asked about the mercury and the ped. said it was mercury free...
Now, what is this??

Unless it was the pre filled syringe from the flu manufacturer it is not mercury (thimersol free). Thimersol is the preservative in the vaccine and has a lot of controversy surrounding it on both sides about the effects of thimersol or not on children.

John got his first one yesterday as well.
The Dr told us to make an appt for his booster shot (apparently if this is their first shot they need a booster a month later), but the snotty horrid receptionist said we arent doing boosters this year because of last years shortage....ooook
Will Jared be getting the booster?

my ped has thimersol free.
Ella's still too young for a flu shot, though I'm not sure I'd give it to her anyway.

Both my older kids got it and the baby will get it at the end of the month. He had bronchiolitis as a newborn and he is appareantly quite susceptible to it again if he gets the flu. Dh & I are also going to get it right after Thanksgiving.
