Flat top stove
I have a white flat top stove and it is always dirty, any pot I cook with leaves big ugly marks. Looks like burnt on food. I have to scrub it everyday after cooking. Have tried the scotch brite pads they work but I am tired of scrubbing everyday. Any help is appreciated.

i first use the cooktop magic .. i think thats what its called..
then i use a razor blade to scrape off the burnt marks. it really works.

Right there with you.... love it, but hate the cleaning of it.
I use Carbona Glass Ceramic Cooktop Cleaner and I use Weiman Cooktop Scrubbing Pads. You may have better luck with this stuff. Hope that helps!!

Thank You, never thought of the razor blade. Someone told me I needed special pots and I thought that was weird. I will try anything at this point, just wish I did not have to scrub every night.

people thought i was totally nuts about using a razor blade , but as long as you do it carefully on a angle it won't scratch the surface at all.!
i hate cleaning the flat top too, its NOT fun

I'm pretty sure this is what I use as well. Whatever i bought came with a razor blade thing. I got it at stop and shop. It works, but I do find it annoying to clean!!

I was told to mix some Dawn with warm water, let it soak for a couple minutes and scrape with a razor blade

Funny, I was thinking the same thing this morning as I was scraping mine with a razor blade. I use the blade and sometime cerma-bryte when it needs a good cleaning. I also have these great cooktop wipes I bought at ACE (wegeman's I think is the brand  )

Prep older cookware for use on a new glass top range. After determining that the cookware is suitable for use on the glass top range, thoroughly scour the bottoms of pans to remove burnt-on grease, carbon and other dirt as this will leave unsightly marks on the glass top that are difficult to clean off.

HATE my glass cooktop. SO hard to clean but the Cerma Bryte cleanser and scraper does a decent job.

Make sure the pan bottoms are clean and wipe up any spills right away.
I use soft scrub and have excellent results.

mine is already ruined (not even 1 year old!). i can't get it off from using it over and over and not being able to get the crap off of it!
oh, i wish we had Gas in our neighborhood...

We recently got a stainless Steel Samsung Range with the glass cook top - I hate the flat top. I miss the old style electric stoves. I am finding that the bottoms of my pans are scratching and leaving marks on the smooth top - It is quite annoying. I bought some cook-top cleaner in a black bottle but every time I use it - it dries so you cannot remove it. So I have been using the Windex or Lysol multi purpose cleaner and that seems to do the trick.

Gas isn't much better. My old gas cooktop I could never get teh caked stuff off either.

I'm a fan of the Cerama Bryte kit too. The handheld scraper is fabulous! It really makes me feel secure using the razor blade.

I try to clean it with a damp rag while it is still hot/warm (just not so hot that you burn yourself).
