first world problems

i took friday and monday off to get some errands done. i got them done, but i also did way too much shopping/spending.

i HAD to dip into the super-secret-squirrel stash of birthday money to cover my silliness. now, SO is looking at me c0ck-eyed because he's done a little mental math and is wondering where i got all this extra money when i'm always crying poverty.





what are your most recent first world problems?

We're having our house done - started out as re-doing the bathrooms & kitchen and turned into painting the living/dining room and getting new furniture & flooring.
My problem is that we basically can't use the 1st floor and it's really annoying to just stay in the bedroom all night. Oh, and we're spending waaaay too much $$ on take-out.

Every single month we say- this is a bad month for bills because X. Y, or Z.

First it was because we booked a trip and had
to pay for the plane tickets up front.

Then it was doing the bathroom over and all the materials we had to buy for that.

Now it's my DD's birthday party this month and we bought a new fridge and we had a minor car accident that wasn't even a little our fault but still ended up costing us some out of pocket money.

We have no mortgage anymore and I drive a 12 year old car that has been paid off for years and yet I still feel like we can't save money like we should be saving.

I really think I have a spending problem.
And life is just expensive.

The sprinkler system was on this morning when I left for work so I had to climb through the passenger side of the car so I wouldn't get wet

We went white water river rafting in class 3 Rapids and I sprained my thumb.

Someone here is selling that World Finest Chocolate for a fundraiser and they have gotten so damn small!
They are still yummy, but man I can easily eat three of them!

I couldn't get a dress out of the closet this morning because the hanger was caught on the hanger of three of my other dresses.

Living in the upstairs of my house while floors get redone, thus eating out at least twice a day and my dog boarding bill is going to be ridiculously high.

The temperature setting on my work fridge is wonky and my salad is frozen.

We spent the whole last week in Florida eating, drinking, swimming and having fun and took a PTO today to catch up on stuff around our place now that we’re back home.

Laundry, groceries, vacuuming. Booooo.

Friday First Wold Problems


It's 90 degrees out and my pool is freezing. I just checked and the water is 75 degrees. That's cold. I won't go in if it's below 80, it just isn't a pleasant sensation for me.

I had to turn the heater on- in a freaking heat wave.
I swear my pool must be buried on top of some ancient cold water creek or something.
It's ridiculous. It never gets warm without hours of the heater running.

Too many damn trees in my yard, not enough sun.

It's 2 hours until I can leave work for the day.
And I have nothing to do, I'm waiting for paperwork that probably will get here just before I leave.

If it wasn't for BatShitCrazy sitting behind me, I would read my book to pass the time.

SO asked me out on a dinner date for tonight and i'm a little upset. i weighed myself this morning and i've lost 0.2lb since i last weighed myself. i'm upset because i know i'll want dessert and will gain what i've lost.

I had a facial with an acid peel and some microdermabrasion. I planned on taking a nap when I got home. DH came home early and wanted to spend the afternoon at the yacht club hanging at the bar.
So Instead of napping, I had some rum punch and played corn hole - all while trying to hide from the sun because my face was on fire from sweat (plus I could only imagine what people were thinking when they saw my face lol)

I left work early and planned to get my eyebrows done. Got to the threading place and the (relatively large) parking lot was full so I had to go to the place I don't like as much.

The guy doing my pedicure just gave my legs the worlds toughest massage. And I had to wait 20 minutes when i got here because it was busy.
