First doll
What was dd's first doll? Not the soft stuffed animal one
dd will be 2 at Christmas and I want to get her a doll with a crib and outfits. She will become a big sister in April so I think it's time. Also she tries to put the cat to sleep, giving him a blanket, lovie, and binky!
I had cabbage patch and magic nursery, not sure what's in for this generation

American Girl Bitty Baby or the twins.
I was going to get DD these dolls until right when I finally decided to go for it (I was debating about spending that kind of money on a doll) they raised the prices even higher and I was so annoyed that I didn't get her one on principal that and she wanted a baby carrier and they didn't have it anymore (she had saw them in the AG magazine) I did find this one though Baby doll
and I loved it and so did she (I wanted a boy one cause I was having a boy) they make other ones and some that are cheaper I just wanted this size one and not a smaller one.
ETA: I gave her the doll at the hospital as her present. also I get clothes at carters in the clearance section i get the preemie ones and they fit and i only pay a few dollars for them (i hope i don't offend anyone i truly don't mean too if it does )

My DD has a Corolle one as well, it laughs, cries, and a few other things. They smell like vanilla. Well made dolls.

First doll
DD has the M&D Jenna doll and she has loved it since around 18 months. They have a cute feeding set she loves to play with too. She also has a personalized diaper bag from pottery barn that's cute. I love that I can actually stuff the whole doll and a few feeding things in the diaper bag and take it with us.

MIL wanted to get DD a bitty baby but told me she didn't bc she figured I'd want to get her her first one myself. I just laughed bc there's no way I would spend that much on a doll. It makes me crazy that their outfits are way more than an outfit for a real baby! Same with all the other accessories. DD plays with her dolls in her real fp booster chair which was way less expensive than the AG version! I just don't get it.

I should have clarified what I meant she wanted the book bag carrier and they stopped making it; now they have I think some rolling suit case one. I ended up finding someone who makes backpack baby carriers and bought her one of those.

American Girl Bitty Baby or the twins.
DD #1 got this when she was 6 months old. Shes now 2.5 and its still in the box in the basement because IMO a doll that expensive should be used by an older child.
DD#2 is 6 mo and I am sure Grandma will be getting her one to. Which will sit next to her doll sibling in the basement. LOL.
My first doll was called Drowsy. That was a loooong time a go it feels.
My friend bought DD1 a baby doll that you feed and if you press the belly, hands feet it makes all sorts of sounds for when i had #2. It was her baby to feed and change LOL I think she got it at Target

Re: First doll
Dd is currently 21 months old. Dd got the corolle doll (the 12 inch one, mon premier). She loves it. It's just the right size and weight for her. I plan to get her the mon classique (14 inch) when she's a little older.
I like the faces on the corolle much better than the American girl bitty baby dolls. They freak me out.

We got both the corolle doll & bitty baby. American girl does have sales on dolls & clothes every so often. Still $$$, but less than retail. DD does NOT like bitty baby. She sleeps & plays with other doll all the time (she's 2.5).

Re: First doll
All 3 of my girls have bitty baby dolls. They got them for their first Christmas. My mil has bought almost every accessory for them over the years and they are well made and last. We're happy with them and they are basically the only baby doll that they have.
