first appt. tomorrow! IM BACK!! update!
tomorrow is my first appt and although I am soooo totally excited (I had to wait until 8w3d for appt. 1) I am a little scared too   There is a part of me that is almost in disbelief that there is a little "someone" inside and I have this horrible feeling that I am going to get there tomorrow and they wont find a heartbeat or something will be terribly wrong 
what can I expect? I have an 11:30 with the OB and then a 12:30 u/s. How long does the ultrasound take? What else do they do that I need to prepare myself for?
prayers for a healthy little peanut!! 
SOOO, I'm pregnant  AANNDD I lost 4 lbs in the past 6 weeks  I know I shouldnt be concerned about loosing but the doctor said it was fine.
So, according to Dr. Rosenberg, I am 7w5d, due on 5/7/10. All looks good, HR was 154 and was saw a perfect little blob  I have to meet with the high risk next week due to clotting issues that run in the family but they said not to worry. They took 17 vials of blood  and I had a flu shot. Everyone in the office was soo sweet (University Plaza OB/GYN). We are excited, it seems so much more real now

YAY!  Don't stress yourself out and enjoy the moment. Seeing the baby on the screen is amazing. And hearing the heartbeat makes you cry with happiness. Everything will be fine! I have only had my appt with my RE so far, haven't switched over to my OB yet, so I can't offer any advice on the appt, just wanted to wish you luck and say woohoo! Be sure to let us know how it goes

don't worry. i had the same fears - i think it's normal, especially because being on LIF you see a lot of heartbreak on here.
i am sure everything is fine! i can't wait to see your little baby's first pic

Congrats on your first appointment! I have mine this coming Thursday
With my first pregnancy- I remember an exam ( no pap since I had one two months prior), urine test, blood pressure, and they also did a blood draw to test for many things. And the ultrasound was great- I will never forget seeing the little bean on there. They did an internal ultrasound.

Everything will be fine. Most likely, it will be an internal sono, just so you are aware. Usually takes 15 minutes or so.

Don't worry i am the same way..although i already heard the HB.....i havent been to the dr in 4 weeks!! I have my appointment tomorrow for my ultrascreen...I am a nervous wreck!! Good Luck...hearing the HB is amazing!! You will be fine!

How exciting!! I was nervous my first visit too!
But then I went for my first appt..and it was amazing!
For mine- they ask you some Qs first...last AF and all that. Then I had a pap (since I was due for one) then she did an internal sono...and we saw bean! Didn't last long at all. The whole thing was maybe 20 -25 mins.
Then went back to her office and she gave us the lowdown on what to expect, prenatals, script for bloodwork & ultrascreen.
Is your DH coming? Can't wait to hear how it went!

yes, DH will be there!! They blocked 2 hours   Does that seem abnormally long? 
1130 OB appt. and then 1230 sono, I hope it doesnt take that long b/c I am telling work I have a doctor's appt. but not telling them for what  I hope they buy that I sat in the waiting room for a good hour.
Thanks girls. I am excited but nervous. As crazy as this sounds, I SOOOO am not looking forward to being lectured about my weight  that is one of my biggest anxieties about tomorrow, especially if DH is in the room, I am going to be mortified
Oh well, there are more important things to worry about to to look forward to I will update tomorrow!!

Aww...don't worry... everything will work out. Also, you can let your doc know not to discuss numbers with your DH in the room... mine still asks from time to time. I was always concerned about my weight as well, but DH still loves me for me, and at 20 weeks I only gained 4 lbs... everything will work out. Don't let that stress you out. I can't wait to hear how it all went!!

so exciting, i cant lie i was a total nervous wreck my first appt too...but after you see your baby on the sono screen the overwhelming feeling of love, excitement, and amazement takes over and everything you worried about takes a back seat ...enjoy this time

yay!!! it's finally here!!!
i am sure everything will be perfect!!! they'll just take a ton of blood and do a quick internal ultrasound...there's not much to see though since it's not moving around and stuff...you'll just see the heart blob flashing on the screen.
i know what you mean about being scared that something will be wrong. i think that's natural..it's EXACTLY how i felt. and everyone was telling me i was crazy and i have to think positive, but it's so hard when you want a baby so badly, and just can't believe that something so great is actually happening to you :)
i can't wait to be updated on what i'm sure will be a perfect little bean!!!

I know you're there right now, but I just wanted to add that you are not alone! I felt the same exact way about worrying something was wrong before my first appointment last week and I also was scared to get lectured about my weight. I didn't want DH to know my exact weight and I made a joke about it and she said no problem and wrote on my chart "Patient does not want to know exact weight, only difference" and highlighted it, so that no one accidentally mentions how much I weigh, just how much I've gone up. My doctor also didn't make me feel bad about being so overweight to begin with, she just encouraged me to eat healthy and aim to gain only 18 lbs throughout the entire pregnancy (!!!).
Can't wait to hear how it went!

YAY...I was a week behind what I thought as well!
Congrats!!!! Did you tell work or not yet? Evverytime I go to the OB its like a 2 hours thing!
