Fertility doctors

Hi - I'm not a big poster but really love all the information I find on these boards.
I have a 2 yr old DS and trying for # 2 but unfortunately after 4 chemical miscarriages this year, my Dr. wants me to see a fertility specialist.
Does anyone have any information about any of these doctors she referred me to:
Steven Brenner - Mineola
Matthew Cohen - LIJ
Linda Sung/San Roman - Mineola

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

mrsrom - i am in same boat as you. have a 2 year old son - having been trying to concieve #2 for over a year now. Last week went to see Dr. Sung for the first time. So far so good - they are monitoring this cycle since i had already started taking clomid.

thank you momofone - I will call her to make an appointment. It's so frustrating because I don't seem to have any problems getting pregnant and my Obgyn sent me for bloodwork that came back ok so she has no clue what the problem could be. I had no problem getting pregnant with my DS and had a great pregnancy.

Dr. Sung did my last IUI. I have also met with her to discuss some results. She definately knows what she is doing, but if you prefer a warm and fuzzy doctor she definately is not it. She is very cut and dry, tells it like it is. I actually don't mind her personality/bedside manner.

Sung is a great choice. Not sweet and fuzzy as previously mentioned but she will get you through the proper testing- esp if you had a DC in the last few years. Hormones may just need a little adjusting.

Matthew Cohen is my doctor. He came highly recommended to me by a family friend who happens to be the best cardiologist ion Long Island. He got her pregnant 3 times. I started seeing him almost two years ago. I'm still not pregnant but that's because I had to deal with a bad fibroid before I could even get to TTC.

He performed my fibroid surgery. He did amazing and more importantly kept me feeling calm and reassured. My scar is so small and clean, I hope the OB who does my c-section some day is as good.

Unfortunately after 6 months of post surgery TTC still nothing, so I was back to him in Oct to discuss and now I'm on clomid and doing IUI this month.

Obviously I can't make a final decision on him until I get results, but he's got a great manner, is kind, soft spoken, thorough, and even though I thought having a male RE would make me nervous he doesn't at all.

Also the waits are usually not bad and unless your changing for an exam, once they call me out of the lobby they usually take me to a room where he is waiting for me. I find that amazing after having an OB I waited 3 hours for regularly.

And his nurse Mai is the best and will always get answers to your questions ASAP no matter how stupid you may think the question is.

Overall I like him a lot. I just hope he gets results and soon.

I used Dr. Sung 3 years ago. Nothing but good things to say about her. I didn't find her standoffish like some PPs have mentioned. She was really nice to me and DH and took the time to explain things. When I had a large cyst and needed testing to see if I needed surgery, she personally called me to give me the (good) test results; it wasn't a nurse that did it. I thought she was great.

Oh, and she did my first IUI, which resulted in my healthy DD being born 9 months later.
