Feeding my 6 1/2 month yr old avocado questions?
Okay, so I tried avocado with Aa and he did okay.
My question is, my parents or MIL babysit the boys the 3 days I work.
How should I prepare it ahead of time for them?
Should I mash it up and just stick it in the fridge? Won't it turn brown?
How much should I prepare for him for 1 feeding?
I try and make everything easy for them, all bottles made, clothes laid out etc...

I used to mix it with bananas as well and it's SOOOOO goood!!!!!!
I would just let whoever is babysitting mash it up..

If you don't use the whole avocado how do you save the rest of it for the next day without it turning brown?
I guess bananas turn brown too?? I don't know I am having a hard time with this? The turning brown part is bothering me, LOL!!!

wanna know the trick?
fresh lemon juice..
you can squeeze some lemon juice into the mix and then you can freeze or refridgerate too
so long as your child has never had a reaction to citrus (I know kids these days have all sorts of allergies), then it's fine.

This. Also store the side with the pit still in it...don't know why but it keeps better that way. I wrap the half in saran wrap tightly and then put in a zip lock to try block air from getting in.
If it does turn brown, it won't hurt the baby--it just looks icky!

I just made it the other day. Pureed with breastmilk. I put the leftover in the fridge with cling wrap over the top with no air and it didn't turn brown at all. I used it within 24 hours and it was fine.

If its fresh it doesn't turn brown for me right away, just as long as you put saran wrap over air tight, it takes up to a day.
At that age DS could eat an entire avocado in addition to puree of veggies and some shredded chicken.

Keep the seed in the left over portion and it won't turn brown. I also wrap it airtight too.

we always just left it out for whomever to mash up. Its really simple to mash up so i dont think it would be a problem for anyone. Just leave it out with a fork or something to mash it with.
