Favorite Housewarming gift?
What was your favorite housewarming gift that you either gave to someone or received?
My friends just bought a home - they were recently married so they have all the houseware stuff from the shower.
Any ideas? Thanks!!

i didn't ever get one... isn't that terrible? i have had two houses and haven't ever gotten a housewarming gift.

we got an engraved door knocker!! we love it!!!! but make sure they are handy enough to hang it.. Dh had to drill through door.

GC to Lowes or Home Depot or BBB! Like most newlyweds, I'm sure they have dishes and pots and coffeemakers, but there are always random things you need for a house.

*Bed Bath and Beyond gift card
*Picture frame
*Bottles of wine or as we say vino
I've given:
*A laundry basket filled with kitchen supplies (washing machine supplies, rubber gloves, sponges, pine sol, mop, air freshner, paper towels, clorex wipes, dishwashing soap & bleach)
*After ordering food to be delivered we payed the entire bill
* A basket with dvds, bags of popcorn, various movie candy (raisenets, snowcaps, gummy bears) and 2 movie tickets
*Bed Bath and Beyond gift card

After spending almost $200  on just paint supplies last weekend, not even the paint, I can honestly say there is nothing I would appreciate more than HD or Lowes gift cards.

I think a great gift would be something on of my friends did and it would be very inexpensive but take some legwork. Put together a nice binder with different take out places and delivery menus. We have moved a lot and it is always a pain to build up menus and find out who delivers etc
