Favorite All Time Book?
Hi everyone!
I'm always looking for a good book. Can some of you tell me your favorite book of all time? I may take your word for it and read the book myself.

Here on Earth by Alice Hoffman
Summer Sisters by Judy Blume
Salem Falls and 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult

I would have to say The Catcher in the Rye . It is my absolute favorite book since I was in high school. After that, I think I read it every year for at least 5 years. Then I became I high school English teacher and read it TWICE a year for 7 years. At this point I probably have the friggen thing memorized!!

Well, as another high school English teacher here, I have a few favorites (and while I've taught Catcher in the Rye eight times now, it still isn't a favorite... sorry  ) But I do adore To Kill a Mockingbird and Pride and Prejudice. (I also love Certain Women, by Madeleine L'Engle.)

Beach Music by Pat Conroy is a great family saga.
Coming Home by Rosamund Pilcher is a coming of age story set in WWII England
The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton is heartbreaking and beautiful.
Gloria by Keith Maillard is not well known, but is about a 1950's sorority girl the summer after she graduates from college and is back home. It is my favorite. The descriptions are magnificent. Gloria is as complex as heroines get!

My all-time favorite, hands-down is To Kill a Mockingbird. I've read it once a year since I was 14, and I never get tired of it.

My all time favorite book is A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. I read it every year.
I also love The Family Nobody Wanted by Helen Doss.
Most of the Jodi Picoult's are good - I love The Pact - but after a few of hers you start to predict the "big twist".

My all time fave.... You'll laugh, but it's "Are You There God? It's Me Margaret." by Judy Blume, but that's for younger kids.
