I’m happily surprised many are now acknowledging that science is always evolving because the old belief was that science was settled and it shouldn’t be questioned. What I still don’t understand though is how someone like Fauci who’s an “expert” on this and have worked for so long on corona viruses, kept flip flopping so many different times and on many different things. It’s not like he just started working on this virus last year but hey at least he’s now admitting that it could have originated in Wuhan and that it should def be investigated, something that he totally denied a few months ago. 
The thing that I find odd is that at first they were saying masks couldn't help at all. This was clearly a move to stop people from hoarding valuable PPE while it was so hard for medical professionals to come by. To think otherwise is utterly foolish. OBVIOUSLY a masks helps to slow the transmission of things like viruses, or else hospital personnel wouldn't wear them. Not to mention that part of the reason that they think that the spanish flu ended was do to a combination of herd immunity and mask wearing. If they knew in the early 1900s that masks were effective why on earth would a trained medical scientist not think that they would be helpful 100 years later? I understand that the virus can get thru the mask but clearly any filter is better than NO FILTER. That's just common sense.

All disgusting. I trust none of them- from any party.

Right, I think that this is what people fail to understand. When you see people like Fauci CLEARLY lying and then doing a 180 it's hard to trust him on anything. It's not that you are a conspiracy theorist, it's that you have seen that the government lies to the people because they are afraid that the people are selfish and/or stupid. So when the government and Fauci now say, this vaccine is TOTALLY SAFE!!!! it's understandable why a lot of people are taking pause and wondering if he's saying it because it's true or not.

How can you trust someone who says one thing and then does another?
There is so much money with this virus and these people will do anything to paid their pockets, even Fauci and that is why they don’t trust him either. It is not just working through the science, he said in 2017 there would be a huge outbreak so why should we have believed what he said how it came about?

The government lies. Politicians lie. Media lies. Celebrities lie. They do not care about people’s health. They don’t. They care about the optics, their careers, their money, their re-election, and their power. Even some health professionals can be pressured or bribed or bought. Yes. This past year proved this hypocrisy many times. They swear something is false and it turns out to be true. They insist something is true and turns out it is not. There is always an agenda, on both sides of the aisle. Nobody knows who can be trusted and credibility is at an all time low. So it is not slightly surprising to me when people doubt their insistence that the vaccine is safe and effective. Yeah, many Americans ARE selfish and stupid as someone said above, but that is not an excuse to justify lies, deceit, half truths and the “I know better than you so do as I say” philosophy. It is a sad, sad time in our world.

Not being snarky just interested what the controversy about them are.
I think it's the fact that anyone who said- hey this might have come from the lab- or hey this could have been man made an unleashed on purpose- was referred to as a conspiracy theorist and labelled a loony and dismissed.
And now it's coming out that some of those theories may in fact be the case and that even Fauci thought it was possible back in the beginning.
For some reason, you aren't allowed to accuse China of anything. They are just good and holy.
This has nothing to do with masks.
Masks were part of it also as he said in the beginning they would not work.
There seems to be a lot in those emails that could have saved peoples lives and that is why it is a huge deal.
The emails aren't a huge deal at all. It really boils down to an attempt by some to discredit Fauci, plain and simple. From what I have read, I am not seeing anything damning or overwhelmingly concerning.
As for the masks, science changes. When you know more, you do better. They didn't think masks mattered initially as the information we had at the time didn't support the need for them. You can't fault anyone for changing course as we knew more about the virus and how best to protect ourselves.
I am not being snarky at all, but I have seen you say this before - science changes. So why are you always so dismissive of people that are reluctant to take the vaccine because it is relatively new and the technology has never been used on humans before? You consistently attack people on not understanding how science and research "work." Yet you are the first to point out that as information changes and more information becomes available it's normal for something that was widely accepted to do a complete 180.
I've never had any issue if someone doesn't want the vaccine. To each his own. What I don't agree with is someone spreading misinformation about the vaccine or minimizing the impact it's having just because they are uncomfortable with it. Science, of course, evolves. Science also shows that the vaccine has a 95% efficacy rate so for myself, I'm following the science. I'd much rather the potential risk associated with the vaccine over the risks of COVID. The vaccine we understand, the virus still has so many unknowns.

Being able to spread a virus before symptoms occur was not newly discovered in 2020. That's how viruses work. It wasn't a leap to think that might be the case with this one.
The fact that this post relies on a fairly misleading argument to defend Fauci calls its credibility into question IMO.
It just goes to show that "truth" is subjective, especially nowadays.
