Fabric softener
What is everyone using on the babys clothes. I already use all free and clear but don't know which softener is good?

Re: Fabric softener
I heard your not supposed to use it on their stuff because it reduces the flame retardancy of the material. Plus their skin is so sensitive. I stopped using it 3 years ago when we had our DD and haven't really missed it at all.

Fabric softener
I just found out that technically it shouldn't be used but I've been using it for the past 5 weeks and she hasn't had a reaction so the ped said its ok to continue using it. Oops. Ped said some babies have reactions bc their skin is so sensitive.

Fabric softener
My LO is 16mos and never used a fabric softner on his clothes or sheets. I don't see a need, plus it reduces the flame retardant materials.

Yes, this is what I've heard. We never use it b/c we all have sensitive skin anyway. We use All Free and Clear as well.

Ditto. Our boys are 3.5 and 1.5, we've never used it.

Re: Fabric softener
With my DD I used only dreft for the first 6 months or so. Not much static on little baby clothes anyway :) Then I just started using whatever we use.

Re: Fabric softener
When i was having DS we stopped using fabric softener, i was under the impression its not good for their skin. I used the all free, and Im gonna use the same for DD, i did use the dye, fragrance free dryer sheets.

We cloth diaper so we don't use fabric softener at all. We do use the Honest Company's moist dryer sheets. They work awesome and are fine for all skin types.

Re: Fabric softener
No fabric softener on any of the baby stuff for now.
I washed everything in ALL free and clear and left it at that!

Fabric softener
I wasn't using it for forever with DS. But at some point I started using it again -- the regular stuff, not the Free -- and nothing happened by way of a rash.
We continue to use the Free detergent though.

Fabric softener
There are chemicals on flame resistant clothing (from what I read its just pj's) and can be absorbed through babies skin. I have used softner on clothes, sheets, blankets to make them soft and comfortable. Never had a problem. If my baby develops a rash or irritation I would discontinue.
