Exclusive Pumpers...please come in
I've been exclusively pumping since DD was 3 weeks. She was born in August and I've gotten what is kind of like my period twice. Once in November and just the other day. Both have not been very heavy and have only lasted a few days. Prior to being pregnant I would have massive cramps on the first day...these two times I have not had a single pain. It has also been much further apart then 4 weeks.
Is this normal? When did you get your period after LO?

The twins are 4 months and I still haven't gotten my period. With DD#1 I didn't get my period at all until I stopped BFing completely at 7 months. It's possible that you won't get a full period until you're done pumping.

That's what I figured...just was very surprised when I started getting some blood. Was wondering if this is going to affect my supply...it's not much as it is!

Re: Exclusive Pumpers...please come in
I pumped for almost 11 months (started cutting back around 8 months). It took about 3 or 4 weeks after I stopped pumping completely to get some spotting, then I had more of a period-type bleed, then more spotting, then I got pregnant so I definitely ovulated. But I had to stop pumping 100%, otherwise my period wouldn't come, even when I was down to once or twice a day for those last few months I still didn't get my period.

I EBF my 8 month old and I have still not gotten my period. I'd say it's normal.

I exclusively pumped for a year and got my period 13 months after my DD was born. I think it varies a lot for people. I have also heard that getting your period can decrease supply a little, but it comes back when it's over.

I BF (used to pump also before my daughter turned 1) but i have not had ONE single period cramp since having my daughter. ITS FREAKING AMAZING! And yes, I get my period about every 6 weeks.

If this is my period...that's basically what I'm getting. It's been about 6 weeks and not a single cramp or pain. Polar opposite to what I had pre-DD! I heard horror stories of periods after baby coming on with a vengeance!

I have EP'ed since DD was 2 days old and she'll be 10 months next week. I got AF after 4 1/2 WEEKS!!! Each month it's different - bad cramps but lighter flow or little to no cramps with a heavy flow.

Re: Exclusive Pumpers...please come in
Since giving birth I never get cramps anymore, and my periods are VERY very heavy.
The lack of cramps is a welcome change, but it has resulted in my period sneaking up on me more than once. The cramps always used to give me a few hours warning. Now it's just BAM heavy bleeding.

I got it three months pp. I had stopped pumping at 6 weeks. It was killer cramps that I actually had to stay home from work.
