Exclusive Pumpers....
Please tell me what you do and how you do it. DD is 3 weeks old and slightly tongue tied. She latches but dosen't nurse well. My supply is great and she is satisfied with BM from the bottle....so if I am to become an exclusive pumper any info tips advice etc is much appreciated.

Re: Exclusive Pumpers....
I was an exclusive pumper with my twins. I thought it was best for me b/c I was able to see exactly how much they were drinking. Plus other people were able to feed them besides me. I never tried breastfeeding b/c I wasn't fond of the idea but I definitely wanted them to have all the benefits of breastmilk so this was the perfect solution for me and it worked great. Definitely get yourself the car adapter so that you can bring your pump and do it in the car if you're going to be out of the house for a long time. Good luck!

Re: Exclusive Pumpers....
I EP'ed for ~1 month so I am no expert. I give A LOT of credit to the women that stick with it.
1 major tip would be to get a hands free bra!!

Re: Exclusive Pumpers....
For the first few months I pumped every 3 hours. I was pumping more than DS was drinking so I was able to freeze some. As DS got older and was drinking less, I started pumping less and it became easier. I never thought I would do it for a whole year, but I did. I set short term goals and re-evaluated things every couple of months. Good Luck to you....you can do it!

Re: Exclusive Pumpers....
I nursed and pumped for two months then exclusively pumped for 5 more months, until DD was 7 months. In the beginning I had to be VIGILANT (I had supply issues the entire 7 months) about pumping around the clock.. every three hours including overnight.
It was stressful, trying to fit in pumps and taking care of DD.. I thought it was easier the days I was at work <I work p/t> because I could pump when I wanted to.
Good luck!

Re: Exclusive Pumpers....
Make sure you get a hospital grade pump like the Medela Symphony. Also make sure you get a ton of extra supplies so you don't have to wash in between pumping. Just throw them in the dishwasher at the end of the night.
