evite for bday parties...

i went back and forth about using it for josh's party...i know he sort of wanted to bring invites to a mailbox and send them off...

but i went with evites, like most of my friends do...it is just so easy.
so easy to rsvp
so easy to not
so easy to see who else is going

is it popular among your circle?
taboo?
tasteless?

just got a new one in my inbox and thought to myself again, it is just so easy.

Re: evite for bday parties...

It is getting more and more popular. Why not? People just toss them after they RSVP anyway.

They are free, no stamps, easy RSVP. I see no down side at all Chat Icon

I see no problem with it.

My sister does this as well as a close friend of ours.

I just did this for DS's 2nd bday party in a couple of weeks. It was so easy.

Re: evite for bday parties...

DS is still on the younger side so all of bday invites have been snail mail.

But I could see evites being the popular way to go. And if that is the trend I would have no problem to oblige Chat Icon

I've never received one for a kids' party. It's totally NOT tasteless though--I think it's a good idea. For me, though, I like the old-fashioned ones.

I've used Evite for several occasions and have almost always been ridiculed by family for it but I don't give a rat's azz what they think.Chat Icon

Re: evite for bday parties...

I see no problem with it and plenty of my friends have done. I haven't, but that's my personal preference. I get very into planning/hosting parties. My invites need to coordinate with my theme. As do the favors and decorations. It actually borders on obsessive. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: evite for bday parties...

Personally I like paper invites but I think an evite would be so much easier for RSVPs.

I think an evite is totally fine.

Re: evite for bday parties...

I would prefer an evite!

Its so much easier, but my circle unfortunately wants paper or better yet, a phone call to tell them they are invited, and then you have to call them back to ask if they are coming. They throw out paper - actually I hope they recycle it at least Chat Icon

I'm personally not a fan. I prefer paper invites with an email and phone rsvp. But that's just me.

I don't see a problem with evites at all. I used them for DD's 1st bday party, and got zero complaints. It's sooo much easier, and anything that involves LESS paper is good in my book.

Re: evite for bday parties...

I don't think anything of them-and invitation is an invitation. I didn't use them for DD's party but I used them for my staff Christmas party. I think it comes down to preference if you have everyone's email or street address.

And honestly-it goes part and parcel with your whole green initiative; less paper.

Re: evite for bday parties...

I use evite for adult parties, and I'll definitely start looking into evite for DC's b-days. I might do paper invites and put the evite page on it, so they can RSVP either way, and if they RSVP by paper, I can update their status on the evite page.
