Epi Pen Question
For moms who have kids with allergies, how many sets of epi pens do you have? DS was just diagnosed with a peanut allergy, so just wondering.

Re: Epi Pen Question
I have one in a drawer at home, one in my purse and then two at school (in classroom and nurse's office). We use the Auvi Q for peanut allergy.

This is what we do for my sister. Now that she's 16, she's in charge of carrying her personal epi. Thankfully, her allergy is NOT as bad as others. She can be around it, smell it, even eat ice cream from the parlor (we just ask for a clean scoop).

Re: Epi Pen Question
I've got one set of two (Auvi-Q) in my bag at all times, one set at school, and I think 1 set of Epi Pens and 1 of Auvi-Q at home. So 3-4.
ETA: do NOT split up the two-pack. You need both in case one doesn't discharge or more than one is necessary to control the symptoms.

Epi Pen Question
We ended up with a bunch by accident, but we have 1 at PM school, 1 at his AM school (he's in 1/2 day Kindy), 1 at Scope (after school care), 1 in a backpack that we carry everywhere when we're with DS, and 1 in my purse (in case we forget the backpack). We also have 1 or 2 packs at the house.
I used to not have one in my purse and we'd leave the backpack in the car, but I found out that extreme temperature (too cold or too hot) lessens the effectiveness so I stopped leaving the backpack and put one in my purse.
We also have Benedryl at all locations.

Thanks! When DS was originally diagnosed, the doctor told us to keep one at home and one in my bag. This was not our normal dr, but the one I took DS to when he had the reaction. I then asked my normal dr about it and he said to always have two available.
What is the difference between Epi Pen Jr and Auvi-Q? I never heard of the latter.
We have one set at home and one in my bag that I carry with me always. Was thinking of getting a set for grandma's, as she watches him 1x a week.
