Empire State Jumper!!!!
Hi ladies,
Did anyone hear that someone jumped from the Empire State Building this afternoon!
A girl I work with, her DH is NYPD and now has to stay late at work since there was jumper!!!

Really? I'm one block up on 35th and didn't even hear a siren. How sad There was a pedestrian accident on the tracks at Oakdale today too

EMPIRE STATE BUILDING DEATH PLUNGE
An unidentified man jumped to his death from the 69th floor of the Empire State Building this afternoon, police said.
The jumper's body landed primarily on the 30th floor landing of the historic skyscraper, but parts landed on the street below.
Authorities are at the scene of the incident.
The building is no stranger to jumpers.
Last Friday, the iconic landmark filed a $12 million suit against daredevil sportsman Jeb Corliss, who tried to parachute from the top of the building.
The Empire State Building Company said Jeb Corliss's stunt attempt last year endangered "the ESB's customers, tenants, visitors and employees, as well as the public at large" -- and he should be forced to fork over $2 million for the trouble he caused, and another $10 million in punitive damages.
The building management company is also asking that Corliss be barred from ever entering the Empire State Building again.
Construction on the Empire State Building began March 17, 1930 and the historic structure has played host to everything from giant apes to royalty and even Fidel Castro.

A man jumped out the window of a law office on the 69th floor of the Empire State Building on Friday and fell to his death, police said.
Police responded to the midtown Manhattan landmark at about 2:50 p.m. after a 911 caller reported seeing a leg on 33rd Street. After closing the street between 5th and 6th Avenues, they discovered that the body had landed on a setback on the 30th floor.
The name of victim, a lawyer in his 30s, was not immediately released.
Detectives on the street were photographing the leg, which was severed below the knee with the foot still covered in a dark gray sock.
In February 2006, a 21-year-old New York man jumped to his death after buying a ticket to its observation deck. Dovid Abramowitz jumped from a vacant office on the 66th floor of the 102-story building.
More than 30 people have committed suicide at the Empire State Building since it opened in 1931. The skyscraper reaches 1,454 feet to the top of its lightning rod.
