Early potty training... 19 month old

So for the last month one of my girls is telling me "pee pee" when she wants me to change her diaper. Usually that means she has pooped. But mostly it means she wants me to change her diaper. The other day she stood up in the tub and said "pee pee" and then peed in the tub. She also grabs at her diaper and says "pee pee" usually when it's on the fuller side like after a big bottle. She has also on occasion peed on the floor and said pee pee and then stomped in it.

So my sister and my mom think I should start trying to potty train. We bought two potties yesterday (we got a second one because my other daughter always follows her sister). They have been carrying them around the house and taking them apart saying "pee pee" over and over again.

They lay on their backs and ask me to take off their diapers and then they sit on their pottys.

So what do you think? Should I start trying? How hard should I be trying and what should I expect? What should I read on how to do it and is it worth introducing it but continuing to use diapers and not expect much.

I guess I am trying to figure out some sort of plan and I don't want them to think the potty is a toy to play with. They know they are in the bathroom and will go grab their potties and then carry them around the house. I have to keep the bathroom door open because we have a cat litter box in there.

If you trained or attempted to train your toddler this early what did you do and how did it go? How long did it take?

Sounds like she is ready. I highly recommend the three day method. Since your daughter is younger, it may take a little longer than three days to train.

You have to get rid of the diapers completely. Do not use pull ups. Stay at home for three days to work on training. The first two days, she may have a lot of accidents, but don't give up. It will eventually click with her. The keys to potty training success are patience and consistency on your part.

We started around 18 months... nothing special, just introducing the seat.At 20 months we used the 3 day method and it took us 4 day, on a 4th daty we went to Bronx Zoo and DS did great.

I think that you should try since she is interested. I also highly recommend the 3 day potty training method. Buy it, read it and completely follow it. When my son turned two he was giving me signs that he was ready and that book really helped me. He said bye bye diapers and we trained.

My dd is 15 months and says poopoo when she sees her brothers Toliet. The past 2 weeks she has sat on it and wnt poop in her diaper. I am going to start training her after the holidays.

My daughter started that around 19-20 mos as well. Says peepee for poopie and does similar in the bath. So I pulled out the potty seats and she is interested and oten tells me peepee and goes to her potty but only has gone a handful or times (mostly only poopie - usually she pees before she gets there). I am not rushing it as I find diapers so much easier than a potty training child - found it easier to deal with when they are older. But I am introducing the whole concept and letting her go at her own rate.

Curious to see how it goes! My DD does the same thing and I'm tempted to start, but I'm having a new baby in a few weeks and not sure if that will cause her to regress?

That is the method. I am very tight with my wallet and the $24 seemed like a lot to me to. But I have to say that book was the best 24 dollars I spent. IF you follow it 100% it works!!! Also I think with that 24 dollars she will answer any questions or problems that you may have.
