Desperate help with early wakeup time for my 11 month old

I truly do not know what to do anymore. Nicholas wakes up anywhere between 4-5am daily. On the days he wakes at 4am I leave him in hid crib to CIO bc there is no way I am starting the day that early. Problem is be will be ok for 20 minutes & then he screams like crazy causing JJ to wake.

I dont know what to do to make him sleep in until at least 530-6? He goes to bed @ 7-730 but that is bc he screams to & even if he stays awake a hour later he still wakes so early.

Re: Desperate help with early wakeup time for my 11 month old

If u figure this out please let me know, my DD sleeps 11 hours a night usually from 6:30 to 5:30, but she tends to wake up between 4:30 and 5:30 am. I've tried putting her to bed later, but she still wakes up between 4:30 and 5:30. But 2 hours later she is exhausted and wants to go down for her nap. She will be 14 months old soon, but has been been on this schedule for a while now.

My daughter, who will be 3 in August used to do this. I would grab a bottle, throw it in her crib with her. She would wake up, find the bottle, drink it and fall back to sleep for a while. Maybe you can try doing that. Good Luck!

I think it's normal. Try pushing sleep time later slowly.

DS sleeps at 8:00PM (by the time he's out, it's 8:30).

He wakes up like an alarm clock at 5:30AM.

He naps at 9 & 2 for 1.5 hours each (any longer, sleep at night is worse). My niece & nephew were like this too...

DD has begun a habit of waking up earlier than I'd like. On mornings when I'm exhausted and just can't do it, I bring her into bed with me. For some reason she falls right back asleep beside me and we get in another hour or two that way Chat Icon

I agree...My DD usually takes 2 naps and if she skips a nap (mostly the afternoon nap) she sleeps a lot longer during the night.

Re: Desperate help with early wakeup time for my 11 month old

I'm not going to lie, when my DS started doing this around 10 months, I just couldn't get up that early and started giving him his bottle in his crib. I would put a pillow in there, let him lay down and I would go back to sleep. He would go back to sleep for 3, sometimes 4 hours! Now, he's over a year old, and we still do itChat Icon He woke at 6:30, I gave him his bottle and he slept till 9:45 Chat Icon I know I should probably stop doing it soon, but I KNOW he needs that extra sleep, but he's hungry, and if I give him his bottle outside his crib, then he's wired and up for the day, but cranky and tired.

Re: Desperate help with early wakeup time for my 11 month old

Thanks ladies. His naps are a total of 2 hours a day. He usually takes a 30 min nap around 8 & then a hour nap around 11ish. He will then catnap around 2 for 30 mins. If he skips a nap, we actually have worse sleep then if he takes the 3. I may do the bottle one in the am & see if that works

Have you tried putting him down earlier? Try 15 mins early. Then if he falls asleep then try 30 mins early. Early bedtime actually makes them sleep later.

I keep on saying this because it works for me, but what about room darkening curtains? My son sleeps till 9:30 at 4 months old because it is pitch black in his room.

he has room darkening cellular shades that makes his room very dark. Thing is at 4am it is NO where near light out!
