DVC & DW questions
Can I rent someone's DVC timeshare as a non-DVC owner? How do I go about finding out about this? Preferably a 2 or 3 bedroom villa since we will have the two kids, plus my mom and aunt with us. We'd like to stay on a Disney property so that we don't have to rent a car and worry about bringing or renting 2 carseats. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Re: DVC & DW questions
yes you can. there are a few legitimate companies you can call and rent points from. they usually are $12 a point to rent.
one place you can call is timesharestore.com
there are a few other companies out there that people here have used - I'm nt sure of the names but I'm sure someone will

I used him for my parents' room when we went together. Scott was great! He's on facebook too.

Re: DVC & DW questions
You can also go in Disboards.com and rent! Sometimes you will find them for $10 per point!

Re: DVC & DW questions
If you plan to do this reasearch a bit. Mousesaver.com has a company they recommend. I would not just book with someone randomly. You basically have a private deal with the person and there are people who have been scammed. The member has to make the reservation for you and there have been stories were the mamber booked (the person went online and saw the confirm) but at some point it was canceled and the person took the money. Also if you get down there and there are problems only the member can fix it for you. You can't cancel like with a regular disney vacation so get trip insurance bevause once you book that is it. It is a good way to save money but you have to make sure you book through a reputable company who is thete to make sure things go okay and you aren't scammed. Even Disboards doesn't really recommend buying from people there and suggests you go to certain places to book. They also say to never go with someone who emails or PMs you.
Also not sure if you know but DVC doesn't get regular mousekeeping. I think you get something like garbage pick up and towels on day 4 and something on day 7... but you should ask a DVC member about that. They are nice places and you can get a good deal but you have to be careful.

Re: DVC & DW questions
For a stay of 7 nights or fewer you get trash and towel service on Day 4. 8 nights or more you get a full clean on day 4, trash and towel on day 8, full clean on day 12, etc.
You can request and pay for additional services. You will have a vacuum in the room as well as sink, paper towels, extra trash bags, etc. 1 BR and larger have a washer/dryer in unit, so you can always wash towels and keep after yourself
