Hahahah again people, I don't care if you say you are "X" number of months. I tell people I'm over 7 months right now because I am 31 weeks pregnant tomorrow. But when I reach 32 weeks, that doesn't mean I'm 8 months, it means I'm still between 7 and 8. I just don't like it when people go to the next month each four weeks because there are more than four weeks in a month. Otherwise we would all be 10 months pregnant by the end! Here's how I see it... If I am due August 31st, 40 weeks before that was November 25th. So technically I'm considered pregnant from November 25th until August 31st, which is 9 months, 1 week... Not 10 months. This is because months are longer than four weeks!!!
But according to your logic, if you are pregnant November 25th (november being your first month) you would be 2 months pregnant on December 1st - a few days later since you are now in your second month
The whole thing is just very confusing - especially since so many people say it differently!
How is that my logic at all? Lol I didn't say you're two months pregnant when the next month arrives. This is getting even more confusing!!!!
ETA: My logic dictates that if you are pregnant November 25th, you are two months pregnant on January 25th.

Dumb Pet Peeve
I hate going by months, to me it's so vague. I always go by weeks unless someone (usually a man) asks me "So what is that in months?", then I will round off to the closest month going by weeks. If I were 32 weeks I'd say "I'm about 8 months", then I'd get "Wow, you're due any minute, huh?", "Um no, not really, I still have 8 weeks to go."
Yeah, it's confusing. I'm definitely not going to count off by 7 day weeks then multiply and divide. That's just nuts and not worth my time for a random person asking about my pregnancy. Only my doctor needs to be that specific and they're going by weeks anyway.

Right, I don't calculate like that either. What I did was count back 40 weeks from my due date to see when my pregnancy technically started. I'm due 8/31, so 40 weeks before that was November 25th. So each 25th of the month I say I'm another month pregnant. So on Christmas I was one month, on January 25th I was two, etc. Right now I'm seven months because I was seven months on June 25th... So when someone asks me, I'll either say 31 weeks or a little over seven months.

EXACTLY!!!!!! I'll be 32 weeks next Friday so if I say I'm 8 months then, people will think I'm giving birth in four weeks, when really I have eight more weeks!

Right, but on January 26th youd be in your 3rd month. Like im 6w5d today, but im in my 7th week.
This is where the trimester confusion also comes in.

I understand but I don't care, I do the same thing though. I don't have time to do the math, I estimate when people ask how far along I am. No one is going to test me on it.

but you have COMPLETED 7 months and are beginning your 8th month. That would mean you still have 8 weeks to go.

No according to this chart you are not eight months pregnant until 35/36 weeks. At 32 weeks you have just started your eighth month. Just like when your baby is born, he or she will be starting their first year of life, they won't be one year old.

???? Actually I responded "no" to cutie, not to maymama. Cutie said that when you are 32 weeks, you are eight months pregnant. So I said no, you are just in your eighth month. Maymama then said the same thing as I did so I agreed with her.

So am I!!!! I just posted about something that is a pregnancy pet peeve of mine... I thought it was funny more than anything that this bothered me, basically attributing it to hormones, and it has turned into a presidential debate!!!
For the record, I didn't disagree with you, I disagreed with someone else. So Idk where that mix-up came from.

but at 40 weeks, you have completed MORE THAN 9 months so, technically you are in your 10th month ...
40 weeks = 280 days. 280/30 (on average) is 9.34 months so you have completed 9 months and are into your 10th .

Yes, pregnancy is nine months plus one week (I mentioned that earlier, I think in my original post). So technically you are in your tenth month when you have your baby. But you're still not ten months pregnant bc you haven't completed ten months!
