DS's eye is swollen shut from bug bite. WWYD?
3yo DS was playing outside 2 days ago. He got a bug bite on his eyelid. His eye has become increasingly more swollen. Now his eye is swollen shut and it is swollen 3x his normal eyelid size. 3yo DS seems pretty comfortable despite his eye being so swollen.
Has this happened with anyone's child? What can I do to make it better?
Not sure what I can do. DH is a doctor but is ortho so pretty useless with this stuff. DH thinks it will get better on its own but it is clearly not getting better!

DD just had a nasty bite that caused her whole arm to blow up. The ped told me to give her Benadryl. The eye is such a sensitive area, I'd prob give a call to the ped and see what they recommend. Hope it's gone soon!

DS had that a year ago and I took him to the ped. Just Benadryl, but my ped said to always bring him in for something that close to his eye.
I'd bring him in.

I would go to the ped just in case. Especially because it's his eye, it's such a sensitive area.
My DD got bit a few months ago on her hand and her whole hand swelled up and was red. They told me to give her Benadryl but they also prescribed an antibiotic for her just in case the bite ended up getting infected.
Hope your LO feels better!

I'd give Benedryl, but if that doesn't help to bring the swelling down, I'd go to the ped tomorrow. I might actually call the ped today to see if they want to see him.

I only got 1-2 ml in his mouth. He spit the rest out.
Hoping the swelling goes down by tomorrow.
