How can I get DS to hold bottle up when drinking?
What can I do? He's been holding his own bottle since he was 4.5 months. He's now 9 months. He won't hold the bottom of the bottle up. Either we have to push it up, or he s^cks air. But lay him down and he can drink the bottle dry on his own.
Do I let him drink on his playmat? What do you do about drinking in a highchair? If I let him s^ck air enough, will he eventually 'get it' or can that be very bad? It was so much easier when he drank from the breast!!!!!!!
Any advice? TIA!!!!!!!!

So, I just should let him s^ck air? Am I supposed to keep pushing the bottom up myself or just let it go?

Do you use the playtex nursers?
I have one with a lever on the bottom that you squeeze the air out and then doesnt allow as much in..maybe that will help...
Caden just sucks the air out until he starts to get something..but I usually push the air out when I first give it to him so most of the time it's not an issue.

at 9 months its ok to let him suck the air till he figures it out.
OR you just need to hold him while hes drinking and do it for him.

I always recline the highchair when DS takes his bottle. He can drink up but it's "easier" for him.

Same here. And I just let him lay down and drink his bottle when he is not in hos highchair. My DS knows how to hold his bottle up, but he just lets it lay on his chest at times so he could play with a toy on one hand or if he just feels like relaxing. I know he gets some air, but so far it has been okay.
