DS is a sponge
He is 1YO (well, 13 mos to be exact) and he learns things SO quickly - which is great in a way but then he quickly gets bored. I can give him puzzles for ages 3 and up - he gets them within minutes and then tosses it aside (or over his head. He is 13 mos, afterall). Any ideas on what I can do to keep him stimulated (and out of trouble, which is where he finds himself quite often)?

Have you tried flashcards? My 2 year old loves flashcards. We do letters, numbers, shapes, sight words, animals, and colors. there is such a variety out there it keeps him from getting bored.
Also, he loves books where you have to find the picture (Like Where's Waldo? but for kids).

Read books
Get the crayola crayons that are covered in plastic so he can color.
With a lot of supervision paint, clay, stickers
Chutes and ladders
Candy land
Twister
Connect four but be careful of putting the disks in his mouth
Checkers, same concern

Attention span is short at that age.
I'd just have a rotation of things that can hold attention for 5-10 minutes & walking & physical activity is exciting too (dancing, music).
Be careful with stuff 3 & up... That distinction is because the pieces can be eaten or aspirated.

Sounds like he is a typical one year old. One year olds attention span is not very long

I think they go through activities quickly at that she regardless. Maybe strap him in the high chair to keep him out of trouble and give him something to do. You can give him stamps, stickers, paint with water, sensory bins with dry beans or whatever. You still have to watch depending on how he is about putting things in his mouth but dd was thrilled with that kind of thing at a year. She soaked up a ton at that she as well but once she got to be more of a physical kid some of the things she knew went out the window. She knew all the letters back then bc she loved her alphabet puzzle but now at 3 she isn't as interested and doesn't remember them.
