I think that I'm overthinking this cause it can't be this hard....

DS can only be spongebathed after his surgery until at least next week when we follow up with the surgeon. He has stitches on his testicle and an incision on his lower abdomen from where they removed a hernia. So basically he can't get wet between his belly button and his whole crotch area. He LOOOOOVES his bath, so we didn't want to put him in the tub and then not fill it like normal because we thought that would torture him so we sat him on the kitchen counter on a towel, let his feet dangle in the sick and then I wiped his back and arms and his legs...he hated it and barely sat still for a second. How do I wash his hair though? I can let him go a couple of days I guess...but he also has a cold and is wiping his snotty nose everywhere so his hair is going to be gross soon....I'm sure I'm missing a simple solution I just can't think of it... Could you maybe put him in a swim diaper and maybe a bathingsuit that like a diaper I think one step ahead might sell something like that. Wrap him in a plastic bag around the area so at least he can get some what of a bath.

Hope something helps

DD hates getting her hair rinsed, so I wet her hair with a wash cloth and then add the shampoo and rinse with the wash cloth again and again and again until the soap is gone. In your situation, I would probably try doing it while he is engaged in some activity like coloring or watching TV, on a few towels and while he is dressed in thick pajamas (to absorb any water drips) and then change him right afterwards.

I'd also try the plastic bag idea from the PP...

Or you could just spot clean his hair as needed! Maybe i'm overthinking it too!

I would try to have DH hold him over the sink and wash it as quickly as possible and just use wipes on his body.

We used a washing up tub (or any kind of tub) to hold the water in, and used a washcloth to wash his body. He stood on a towel in the kitchen, he loved it!!
