Dry cough in 21 month old
DS coughed in his sleep most of the night last night... A dry cough... I am thinking allergies. Never coughed that much before though. Is there anything I can do for him? He is still coughing this morning. Not all the time, just once in a while... When he coughs to hard sometimes he throws up. I am trying to avoid that... He is rubbing his ears, but I am almost positive that is from his teething...

Does he have a fever? I would call the ped. It could be an ear infection. Also ds had been coughing at night for weeks. I thought it was nothing and it turned out he was wheezing and he needed albuterol. I'm sure its nothing but is call to be sure

DS has been doing this as well from teething (he tends to throw up too and did the other day).
I've tried to elevate him and run his humidifier to help him get more comfy.

No fever... Acting normal.. Last night was the first night he was coughing. I will call the pedi just in case.. Thank you..

The only time DD has done this is when it overly dry in the house. I agree with the above poster, if he's rubbing his ears too, I would call the ped to be on the safe side.

I will try a humidifier tonight. With the A/C on, it has made his room dry...
