cough and 8 month old
is there anything to do for it? she had no other symptoms. No runny/stuffy nose, no fever, she's not crabby, just a cough.

Re: cough and 8 month old
DS had this for a few weeks. We elevated his mattress and that seemed to help you could also try a humidifier

Re: cough and 8 month old
thank it doesn't bother her. She sstn, Iheard her cough 1 time last night but she went back to sleep. It's just in the morning. YEsterday and today. I don't think it warrants a call to the dr unless she develops other symptoms but just wondering.
Maybe I will put the humidifier on tonight to help in the am
Thanks

Re: cough and 8 month old
we are in the same boat except that DS also has ear infections and the cough is from post nasal drip. he has coughing fits where he doesnt stop for 2 hours at night he literally convulses he is coughing so hard and so much. almost to the point of getting sick
we cant elevate the mattress because he stands and crawls around. he moves all over in the crib.
ive been sticking with motrin and we have the humidifier going constantly but it doesnt seem to help much. when he starts coughing bad, i just hold him rock him and try to keep him upright

Poor Jack.
I was worried about the same thing (I posted about it) but it had to be done, because he would cough at night while he slept (no where near how jack is though).
I just put the small boppy pillow from the tummy time mat under the mattress. Thomas doesnt really stand up unless he is up in the AM so when he would wake up I would just go right in and get him to avoid him standing up. Sometimes he would change position but overall it did help him

I hope he feels better. It's been 2 days of this cough and so far the nights have been good. But i guess it could get worse. SHe has never been sick before so this would be her first. I will keep my eye on it.
Would motrin or tylenol help with a cough?

it will help with any discomfort from the cough and if she is coughing because her throat hurts, it will help her cough less
