I got a smiley Thursday on my OPK, do I determine DPO based on when I received the smiley?

ok did you test again yesterday? In previous months I stopped testing after getting my smiley, but this month I kept testing just to be sure (since some girls get smiley's for a 2-3 days in a row). I didn't have a 2nd day of smiley's so I'm going to guess that the day I got the smiley is in fact the day I ovulated. That being said, it can be anywhere from 12-36 hours from when you get your smiley that you actually ovulate....so depending on the time of day you tested, it could be that day, the next day or even 2 days later! I use the day of smiley as my guideline though, and always have the +/- 2 days in the back of my head. good luck!!

i would definitely keep testing after you get your smiley, until you get a negative, bc like mammapj said, some girls get more than one day of a positive opk. i consider my 1st day of a negative opk 1dpo... however it could very well be the day following that depending on our bodies, so i keep that in the back of my mind.
for example, this month i got a on tuesday night and wednesday morning, and a negative opk on thursday morning. i had O pain wed, so i am considering thursday 1dpo.

Yes I tested yesterday as well and I got a smiley. Today no smiley, so I guess I will say today is 1DPO. Thanks ladies
