I just saw this! I went to bed early last night and was busy at work. I get so excited when I see someone post my name Chat Icon Chat Icon

The photo makes me think of those fun, carefree days, ahhhhh. I keep telling DH I have to take him to Little Italy for dinner. Maybe once the weather gets warmer. Thanks for posting!

Do things look much different up there? Did you see the renovated church?

Chat Icon I don't know. . . they were always doing something. When did you graduate? I graduated right after they built the new library & before they built the new dorm ( Millenium) & renovated Martyrs. Chat Icon

Sandra (BabyAvacado) went to Fordham as well, but I believe she was mostly at LC.

That new library rocks! But I have a soft spot for Duane. I loved the rooms with the spiral staircases and the catwalks. Where is Millenium? Is it near the parking lot?

OK, so now I feel old, because I never even went to Mug-z. I think they might have opened just before I graduated.

Millenium was the monstrousity they built behind Martyrs, right?

New Hall was the dorm with the spiral staircase & loft. I lived there sophmore & junior year.

Duane was where the Exorcist was filmed on the 5th floor.

Right, but in the old library, there were 2 or 3 rooms on the second or third floor that had stacks, and a catwalk around the perimeter that had more stacks and a spiral staircase that went up to the catwalk. There was a scene from the Verdict with Paul Newman that was filmed in one of those rooms. I studied there a lot because they were quiet rooms - I think there were art books in one of them.

ETA: I just saw your photo - that's Dealy, no? Duane is the old library, I thought?

New hall!

I think it was only called that briefly. It was changed to Finley. That was the one with the lofts.
I lvoed hiding out in Duan e & barely went to the new ( Walsh Family) libray when it opened my senior year. ( FC '98!)

Does anyoen knwo what Duane is now?

When I graduated, Father O'Hare left, and they changed Sesquicentenial to Tierney Memorial ( after a classmate that died freshman year Chat Icon )

Millenium is HUGE & is in the parking lot! Chat Icon

I pass Fordahm every day on the train.

Yes that's Dealy. That' where they put the main computer lab when they got internet access.

Duane was the old library. The new librbary is right next to it.

Were Alumni North & South built when you guys went there? They wer the main freshmann dorms when I was threr.

I lived in Alumni South, Martyrs C House, Martyr's F House & Walsh. I've heard Martyr's is completely different now.

OK, at the risk of sounding like Fordham geekorama....

New Hall was originally "the Chemistry building.." I think it was renovated into a dorm in the early or mid 80s and was named "New Hall". When I was there in 2001, I did notice it had been changed to Finley Chat Icon

Also when I was there in 2001, the old library had been chained up and I was so sad, because I was showing a friend around who was considering it for graduate school and I wanted to take her in there.

I thought about getting married in the church, but they were renovating it and I didn't believe they would be done before our date.
If we did a very small wedding, I was going to find out about the Blue chapel in Keating Hall. Have any of you ever been in there? It is a little known gem - I used to like to sit in there and think all of my deep thoughts.Chat Icon

I lived in Queens Court when they were building Alumni North & south - we were overrun by skunks and mice that had been displaced by the construction. Every time we went out to the bars, we were on skunk alert!Chat Icon

I lived in Spellman, Queens Ct, G-house and Walsh - the 13th floor of the 5s was no fun when the elevator broke down (and that was often!)

The Villages were these prefab trailers they put up as temporary housing and I think they used them as dorms for 3 or 4 years, then I think they were temporary offices. I think they are gone now (and might have been by the time you were there.)
